Doomy and Beowuuf (and Sylvia):

You are confronted with a large stone grotto. Across the grotto are moving walls. They are moving faster in the centre and slower along the outside.

To move to the other side which you can sometimes glimpse between the moving walls will take you roughly 10 (70 activity) rounds, assuming you can keep away from the walls and you are not blocked off by them.

It looks quite dangerous to take the quickest route. The walls move at some speed and appears and disappears in no particular pattern.

Right before you there is one corpse lying on the ground. Seemingly it has been crushed.

The ground is rocky and not easily traversed. Not adviceable to run here.

The grotto is roughly square in shape.

"The dwarf smith told me sometimes it was hard to discern what was an elemental or not. Perhaps we should see if these walls are moved by them? If not, I vote taking the outside wall - caution over speed!"

Beowuuf will call out to the walls, asking them to halt and speak to him. He will then - I assume - be very embarrassed at addressing magically moved walls

You are confronted with a large circular grotto. Close to the centre of the grotto are two huge fire hurling constructions, or possibly elementals. You spot them hurling fire at some luckless adventurer who happens to pass to close to them and is hit by the fire and ignites. The huges construction seems to pay the fallen little attention and continues to hurly firely balls between themselves.


To move to the other side will take you roughly 6 (63 activity) rounds, assuming you use the fastest path.

It looks quite dangerous to take the quickest route. There will be virtually no reaction time to avoid the deadly hurled fire if you do so and the two fire hurles are on either side of the centre making it impossible for you to observe what both of them are doing if you approach the centre.

Ahead and to the left is a burning corpse. Killed some time ago. Ahead is the just fallen adventurer.

The ground is filled with red stone in various nuances. In some place there are red lava like materials.

Doomy watches Beowuuf's actions with a mixture of curiosity and amusement.

The walls do not respond to Beowuuf's calls.

Sylvia is for taking one of the longer paths but is not keep on staying too close to the extrior wall. She wants space on all sides when she is moving through.

What you need to do:
Decide how fast you will traverse. How much will your character spend on Search and Stealth each round? I'd advice you to have the same remaining speed once you spent the points.

Sylvia will keep up with you, no problem there.

There is a few people ahead in the labyrint both to the left and to the right. If you progress very quickly you may meet them, otherwise you may face them at the exit or yonder.

Plot out the attempted route through the labyrinth. (Do so by quoting message and changing the X letters to some other unused letter.)

If there seems to be problems or danger of being caught between walls on the route, or if you find something of interest I will stop you all at that point. If nothing happens you will simply reach your end destination.

R= Route, passing through the corpse space. We should probably try to equalise our stealth, no point being a ninja beside someone noisy. I can be somewhat stealthy in my new armour unless I shoot something.

Wuufy - any thoughts on distribution of points in search/stealth?

You: Eye 1, Speed 2, Act 7, (+2 stealth)

If I spend 2 points on stealth and 1 on search and you spend 1 on each, we'll move at the same speed (5 Act/round left for movement).

I can't find a quick reference - was there a power word: speed? If so, I could put 2 points into search and still match you. Except there is no point matching you, since I'll be going the the long boring route.

Hmm, I think instead of putting points into speed, will do a power word: eye and put max points into search to check for traps and things that might trip Beowuuf up / sideswipe him. I think my stealth already would match your points. I think with a power word: stelath i was neigh indetectable, so without it I should still be ok.

Remaining activity will hug the wall completely (a little scared Sylvia decided to stay off the wall like you Doomy)

What do you think Doomy? Separate routes to discover more about this place? Or should we be sticking together to maximise our ability to spot danger and deal with it?

I've modified my route above to make it more efficient. I think I'd rather stick together, but if you want to split up that's fair enough.

I'm just very conscious of the 'don't go too quickly' warnings we got. and the fact you're going straight through the room right by an apparently dangerous place!

Beowuuf will back you up, I'll change the route to match yours. I think that means I need to reduce my search points to +2 in order to match Doomy's movement.

We won't actually be moving that quickly though. No running or anything like that.

Right.... Sylvia will follow Beowuuf but will be one square into the labyrinth all the time instead. (Should he opt for the roundabout route). Going a faster route she will have a bit more time to look around.

If not then she will take a route to the left of Doomy.

Or are you going same routes now?

You are entirely free to take different routes should you so want. Nothing wrong with agreeing to meet at the exit.

Beowuuf: You keep both Eye and Speed maxed with Power words, or only one of them?

I'm not clear about how you are dividing your search and stealth points right now. Remember that you do have 2 Perception points each round which you can spend as well. You activity points are listed in first post here.

I will follow Doomy, +3 to search then and have 6 for speed. I didn't think I could cast two power words in this game. If I can, I will cast power word: eye and stealth.
