Oh, I thought I said Gauntlets of Strength on the main thread - I'll take those instead! And ok, I will wear the black rose attached to my cloak.
Edit: I missed the alternative reasoning for not taking the gauntlets in the main thread. I think I will stick with the gauntlets anyway.
Beowuuf bids farewell to his guide, and murmers a Vakeros power word to make his footfalls quieter. No sense in giving the enemy an advantage.
Will cast power word: stealth for 3 mana, which gives an effect equal to 4, yes?
Will take out the herb book from backpack for 2 activity, do a search on the herbs for four activity to get a +3 bonus, and will use last activity and perception points for +3 stealth bonus to existing power word stealth bonus.

Updated the post above for your choices.
Also added Rules for the Book of Herbs in the main thread. Seems I missed telling you how it was used.
When you use the Book of Herbs it is assumed that you select out one herb which looks promising which you do not recognize. So you do not need to search the place.
But as you noted above you need to take it out from Backpack and use it.

Round 1. Location: A-1.
Beowuuf takes out the book of herbs. Despite their ruined appearance Beowuuf manages to assert that he has indeed found some Laumspur leaves. (I've placed the leaves in your backpack.)
The area is quiet. You observe nothing new apart from the laumspur this round.

Nodding with his assets, Beowuuf picks a random direction and moves onwards.
Use 3 activity points (including the perception points) for +3 to stealth, and put the rest of my activity in to moving quickly to B-1
Edit: Wait, I think I may have mis-understood. Is this just one giant grid, not a grid with smaller room-style squares? So I could actually use the 6 activity points to move to D-4 if I wanted?

Nm, saw the post further down on the first page.
Ok, so I guess I need more information on the squares around - is that a set of searches on my current location, and in the directions south and east, 2 activity points each for a +1 bonus each time?

A 40 x 40 Map simply defies all attempts on being easy to display on my monitor so I currently use a 20 x 20 Map where each square is a 2 x 2 mini square.
There are plants all around you but you do not see anything more that catches your interest in the first round, so best is to move 2-3 squares and then search the new location.

Ok, move to b-2
Edit: In the new numbering, B-2 NW by a1-ne, a1se, b1sw

So move to B2-NW (3 activity) Stealth +3 (1 activity and 2 Perception points)
Remains 4 activity ... What do you want to do with those?

Search please for full +3!
Can I do a general search of the three other squares, or does that count as a ranged search?

You do automatic search for nearby enemies without having to search squares.
But otherwise, yes it is restricted to one 2x2 square you are located on at some point during the round.

Beowuuf notices some light red shrubs. They remind him of something although for the moment he cannot remember what. Perhaps the Book of Herbs have the answer.
The shrubs have a heavy scent over them and are quite fragrant.

I guess I need to take the out the book again, and putting +3 into stealth check out the herb.
Beowuuf will not be breathing in, no matter the wonderful aroma!

Identifying the Herbs you discover that they are a plant called Worm Fever cultivated by the Cener Druids. The scents is contaminated and causes dizziness and weakness in whoever breathes it, and the stringy sap in these plants can be used to coat weapons to cause the same effect in hit creatures.
Despite trying not to breathe you are feeling dizzy, although you are feeling a bit queasy you manage to shake off the dizzyness in your head.
When looking to the EAST you see someone moving about in the distance. The creature look like a human but is still a fair bit away. Location: G-2
