Cat was going through his own crisis of confidence earlier with magic, if dice rolls with spells went badly, it could have seen him drop out of the BCS for a level to gain either acoomoner level or even shadakine or some such thing - though hopefully return back afterwards and not lose his way!
Better yet his magic stay with him and he stayed a BCS though

If any of the above had not come out naturally through chapter two, I was planning on having Moon Owl admit it in an attempt to clear things up with the others. Also, given the severe blow to his self confidence, he would have to do a lot of soul searching. I meant to inform Zipp of my plans, and if given the OK I would have had Moon Owl leave the others and return to the Monastery, a 'Breaking Of The Fellowship' moment. Nice and dramatic! We would of course have to find a way to get them all to meet. I got the impression (it may be completely wrong) that 'Blood Moon Rising' would follow, in which case Moon Owl could easily be sent on patrol and just happen to run into the others south of Toran. Perhaps they had been sent in search of the missing Brotherhood agent. At any rate there are ways and means to get the group, or those who still wish to be part of it, back together. Of course this gets us no closer to acquiring that mysterious object Zipp alluded to. Don't suppose it could be lying next to the Shianlune Bow...? MO would've defenitely been allowed to leave. Tyrste had also expressed a desire to continue her own mission, and return to the group when it was completed. Adric's mission would've tied in directly with the remainder of the plot, and everyone else's mission was to go along with the current quests. Berkos' search for his master (Rothgar) would've been very central to the plot as well. Goyangi was a tie in back to the Ragadorn Tavern game, which had a loose plot end to be resolved in this campaign. And Akono had this very helpful foresight ability. Akono is the only one who knows what I'm talking about when I mention a mysterious plot item.

Yeah, I think Cat was the same, just trying to react to the confusing spider issues. In general, Cat would been manouvering to get the pendant and figuring out the ranger. Due to the delays near the end, I think Cat had forgotten the real purpose of the trip because I had forgotten the real purpose of the trip! Something about evil in the forest? Red ghosts, they said. And only serves to reinforce Adric's belief that they don't exist (must be that scatterbrained excuse for an apprentice playing tricks with him, that boy'll never learn about magic untill he manages to concentrate and pay attention). The annoying thing about that is that I'd already lined it up to follow as the next chapter of The Long Arm of Darkness 2 or 3 months before Zippy blatantly announced it publicly. For those who didn't know (probably everyone exept me) the Dark Master in the sunken ruins near the mines was a Stornlander noble working as a spy/agent for a Drakkarim warlord. His duty was recover an artifact from the ruins. The Drakkarim warlord (very distant) was going to become a recurring villain who'd operate in the background and be responsible for various things as he progressed along one of the dark disciple class paths (yes, some of his machinations would be to fulfill various requirements for certain powers). There was going to be an excursion to Kalte (persuing a fleeing underling), or possibly an entire diversion there (since one of the class requirements/duties was betraying a trusted friend, so he could set up a minion somewhere insignificant and then personaly see to it that their plan failed). Unfortunately the boards went down before we got that final encounter (with the dark master who had 1 or 2 noble/expert levels to go with his 1 or 2 dark disciple levels) and his lone 2nd level Vassagonian bodyguard (yes the other two were 2nd level too but they got sort of mercilessly cut down before they got a chance to do anything). It really was that simple and yet some people wanted to go all the way outside and kill my motivation . That didn't help but I would've manged to get that final encounter out the way (I'd been saving a special floorplan for it too).

Akono was in the forest looking to save the girl he saw in this dreams, and to find and protect an artifact that was located there.

Another major plot spanning device that had been introduced had to do with Al and his mysterious island.

So is there any way we can continue this game? For the record I don't mind dropping plot strands or jumping to the next chapter if it simplifies things.

I agree with that - we all can start at level three. I know that would mean loosing out the twists and turns from chapter two, but I think we were all invested enough in our characters that we remember enough to make it work.

After having tots down so long, it's made me realise how much time it all takes up! I'm not sure, if the game will be as fast paced with posting every day, if I will want to commit to that again. I'm starting to find the time when I am feelign creative to do my creative stuff seems to be rapidly deminishing!
I'll seriously think about carrying on if it does restart, but just providing a warning!

You know, a few days ago a thought struck me. Since the amulet looks like a spider it might be being used to control the giant spiders (but that wouldn't make any sense since the spiders attacked after the group had it so someone couldn't be controlling them).
Anyway, that's even more of a reason to destroy it (especialy if it's something the spiders want).

So is there any way we can continue this game? For the record I don't mind dropping plot strands or jumping to the next chapter if it simplifies things. Starting where we left off wouldn't be a problem. I would provide a recap of the relevant information. Like I said, it's kind've important you finish this mission first hand. And I'm really happy to see that you all are interested in continuing, it's really cool to know that I had your interests and that you were as into your characters as I was into the story. The only problem, as Beowuuf mentioned, is time. I really do want to get back in the game. And I want to make the changes in gameplay that I stated above (more focus on decisions and role playing, less on stats and dice rolling... which I would take care of from now on). The big thing is time. I really want to be able to devote myself to the game, and at this junction, I wouldn't be able to. HOWEVER! I want to get back in as badly as you do. So the moment I have time safely set aside and available, I'll let you know and we'll jump back in. I would say let me finish up this last school term, graduate, and then we'll do it.

Scarily my copy of Adric's character sheet is perfectly up to date on everything exept for the equipment section (which needs the crossbow, bolts and a few other bits and bobs adding). I also remember feeling pretty chuffed that Berkos only had 22 ep at 2nd level while Adric had 23 (I didn't expect to stay ahead but it was a nice little dungheap to crow on top of while it lasted ).

Well Berkos had the same constitution bonus as Adric (and a strength of 17). Moon Owl wasn't very healthy. Unfortunately I can't remember too much of the other character sheets but then they weren't my responsibility. Oh right, the other problem. Character sheets
