I'd still like to run the 3 Mongoose adventures at some point in the future but I reckon Zipp having already run one of them would kind of spoil it for the rest of you. My version of it would differ in many ways but also be far too familiar for it to be much fun. Well I was already familiar with the first one Zipp ran, but I tried not to let my foreknowledge influence me. The changes Zipp introduced also added a new element. It'd be interesting to revisit that adventure, possibly as a new character.

Akono was more in pursuit of a statue and a young girl, who we had found in the inn I dont' remember him having any great feeling about the amulet either way.

I'll try to post the Second Act today. As a bit of a preview, I can say it involved the outbreak of war in Slovia, the tying up of the crystal and characters from the Ragadorn Tavern game, the finding of Balgin's prey, and a trip to the Darklands.

It might feel too much like doing the same thing all over again so maybe after a reasonable gap . Amusingly Adric disbelieved most of them (although I'm certain he disbelieved some other elemets Zipp hadn't added too ).

I found some of my notes and it jogged my memory. Here's the first part of Act II:
Returning to court, the players discover that relations between Slovia and Sommerlund have worsened due to the death of the noble lady. There's no proof she was a Helghast, and the player's assertions that they were in the right only makes matters worse. As diplomacy fails, the players and the diplomats from Sommerlund agree that war is on the horizon and that they should return to Sommerlund to prepare for the worst.
Before they can leave Slovia, however, a storm unlike any the world has seen sets in. It's a veritable monsoon, effectively sieging the castle town the players are in and keeping them from leaving. What starts out as a hindrance becomes a real issue, as flooding damages the structures and food begins to run out.
Led by visions from the Kundi, the players realize this is no natural storm and are led out by the visions into the worst of it, where they find and rescue a Dessi mage, who tells them the storm is caused by a Nadziranim who got hold of a fragment of the Crystal of Khoultoum, an artifact stolen from the Dessi and last seen in Ragadorn.
The players bring the Dessi back to the city only to discover dark creatures are coming out of the storm. The players are involved greatly in fighting them off. After beating them, the storm abates a bit. The Dessi tells them this is their chance. They have to head West and retrieve the other, larger part of the Khoultoum crystal... only it can fight off the Nadziranim.
They don't have much time, though. It's only a matter of time before the city falls.
(that's the first part. Part two I'll try to put up tonight)

(Part Two)
The companions have to find their way West while following the trail of the Khoultoum Crystal. They hear two stories which hold interest. One is of another set of adventurers questing for the Crystal. The other is about a cat creature which carried something resembling the crystal (this would be the group from the Ragadorn Tavern and the Cat Creature from that game that stole the crystal... to note, it was also these travellers which had been at the watch tower... remember you all found evidence of someone having recently been there?) Following the trail, they learn of the demise of the other adventurers, all at different points in the road.
Eventually they come to the Illion plains, and here my little addition to the LW world takes over and they meet the beast tribes that live on the plains. In particular, they meet the Cat Creature from the Tavern game, who has grown to a godlike size and roams the plains.
His presence is problematic. The Cat Tribe views him as a God. But his presence frightens the humans on the border of the plains, and the other tribes worry that it will start a war with the humans. The companions have to make a decision about who they side with:
- the cat tribe, which has access to the god-beast, but which wants him kept alive - the other tribes, which want to hunt and kill the beast - the humans, who are the best equipped, but want to wipe out the beast clans
In any case, eventually the players have to go against the God-beast and kill it to take back the Crystal in a Shadow of the Collosus-like battle. But the Crystal is stolen by a Helghast, and they have to track it to the Darklands, where they kill it and fight a small army of giaks and other dark spawn.
Fleeing the darklands, the heroes return to Slovia, break through the magical siege, and present the crystal to the Dessi mage.
EDIT: (forgot, there was one more piece to all this) Taking the crystal, the Mage organizes an attack on the storm controlling Nadziranim, and in a massive battle, the dark wizard is defeated.
But all is not as it seems...
And thus would begin Part III
