I have Akono level one sheet only but should be able to move that to level two quite easily.

Well if worse comes to worse, we'll just guesstimate.

I only managed to recover Berkos's character thread from the google cache before they cleared the cache, and sadly Grolam hasn't made it across to here yet!

Well, there are a few possibilities:
1) Like I said, we could just recreate the character's stats at level 2. Obviously it wouldn't be a perfect fix, but at least you could go on playing the characters
2) Something in game could happen to change character stats permanantly, giving you an excuse to use approach number 1
3) We consider your characters to have been lost in the last mission and start a new game that will intersect with the old game's plot. Obviously this would be sad, as I really liked all the old characters and the group's relationships. It is not without benefit, though, as detailed below: - It's a good way to reset everyone in terms of in game knowledge. - It allows those people who haven't made themselves known here or who no longer have time to play able to leave the game - the possibility of running into your own characters would be exciting and add a constant air of mystery to everything (especially if your mission is to locate them) - It allows me to better incorporate my newer method of gming, hopefully with less catches than the last time
To be honest, fix number 3 is my desired fix. I think the benefits outweigh the jumbled mess that could easily come out of trying to restart the old game with the same characters (keeping in mind our loss of character sheets and players).
And remember, it doesn't mean you wouldn't see those characters again... may even get a chance to play as them again...
In any case, we have time to discuss. I would not undertake a gming experience until I graduate, which is three weeks still.

While it would be a great shame to lose the characters we created if you consider this is the best way to continue the game I would be happy to restart as another character as the most important thing is to enjoy playing the game and this would give us all a chance to get back into the game.

In some ways it will end up immortalizing the characters you created on your first go round, as they will become key components of the plot.

I'm sure he'll be less verbose, you can't waffle that much and GM a full game See, now I'm thinking how cool it would be to run a Kai Lord or a Vakeros Darnnit, I might sign up after all

Personally I'd rather run with the same characters if that is at all possible. Quite apart from anything else I like them all! As finishing the current adventure seems unlikely I'd suggest a GM summery of how that finished off, followed by the next part of the saga. It does not really matter to me that we don't have all the character stats, as long as we have a general idea of the strengths and weaknesses. For example, Moon Owl could be described as: Level 2 Kai Lord. Below average Con, slightly above average Str and Dex. High Wis and Cha, very high Int. Mindblast II, Healing I. Slightly above average ranged combat, average melee. Very good healer. Good climber, stealth, perception, survival. And so on. If we are taking on board a system where the GM deals with all the die rolls (and we all do trust Zipp, don't we? , then we the players don't need any more than that. Of course, if it is totally unsuitable to continue with the existing characters, then I have no objection to creating a new one. I'd prefer to continue with the current ones, but I'm not going to refuse to participate just to get my way!
