No problem, just making sure our beloved mail hasn't lost it

Book has been gotten! Book has been written in! Simey's address has been received!
I'll see if I can sneak out at lunchtime to post it onwards. It's so exciting!

Did it make the trip undamaged?

We're getting close now! GB, you still have a way to get it to Dever such that he'll actually sign it?

Seems to be fine!

That's a relief. It was over-packaged to a ridiculous extent because I'd have been gutted if anything happened to it on my watch. Perhaps literally.

I was so tickled I've kept all the old packaging, and then wrapped my own around it. PLus put in a piece or cardboard (doesn't wrap fully around ) So yeah, it should be good!

I take it that when it goes to Joe (real soon now!) it will be sent with a covering letter?
Otherwise he'll be thinking "why is someone sending me the postal equivalent of a Russian doll containing one of my old books that's been scribbled all over, in pen no less?"

I know FA/KL is reachable on Facebook at least really easy, so I'm sure he can set up the covering letter he wants Joe to see.
Plus he did do one of the bonus adventures, so I imagine he must have spoken to Joe in some capacity by now!
Anyway, got to the postoffice at lunchtime, so hopefully this time tomorrow Simey should have it, or should have an annoying letter saying he should have had it.

I'm gonna need to know JD's address obviously. Assuming he's in the UK at the moment anyway. By the time you'll read this, I'll have sent Simey my address.

I thought I'd made a facinating discovery of Mydnight's text on the 350 section, then realised I just hadn't posted file34 which showed it. So apologies to SS, and I'll try and get that uploaded and put on the first post at some point this weekend!

Ooh, it is like a Russian doll! All the layers of packaging from the last several recipients! Wow - what a thing to hold! I did come over a teensy-veensy bit awe struck at seeing the hand-written writings of so many people from so many places that I only know via a computer. You can keep expensive cars and grand houses and gold and gems and valuable antiques and all that rubbish: it's this sort of thing that has real value - a common passion that unites us all embodied in a simple object. Amazing. Anyway, I'll not get to the post office in time to send it on tomorrow, so it'll have to wait - and be admired by me a few more times - 'til Monday to wing its way across the border to GB. A thought that occured - should we be sending it to Joe Dever along with some packaging with KL/SS/FA's address on it and appropriate stamps as well as a letter? I'm sure he can afford it, but it might be a bit cheeky to expect him to go out and buy packaging and stamps and address it himself.

I just caught up to this thread. WOW !!! THE WANDERING BOOK LIVES !!! I had given up hope on the book that I had signed years ago. This is truely great !!! We, as a community, must ensure that we keep the book moving until it finally lands into Mr. Dever's hands. It must not collect dust again. AWESOME !!! Koreth
