Haha, I saw it already. It's just that we need a more official way to announce it, like by creating a brand new thread for it. But thanks for taking the opportunity to make the announcement while I was away.

They are definitely rocketing through them now... I hope anyone who was impatient and a little dismissive of the comments about what was happening behind the scenes to streamline the process now eat their words!

Scaredy Cat Conquers Mydnight!!!
I must say that so far this has been my favorite of the new order books. I know that's not saying much since living in north america where none of the books after 22 were published my feelings could be highly influenced by the fact that I have never played this one. But considering I only had to fight three times throughout the whole book and those of you who have read my previous post about the buccaneers of shadaki know how well I fared in combat in those games.
I would like to thank Doomy for pointing out that without Kai surge i would be pretty much toast. It was in fact the new skill I chose for Mydnight and except for when I faught the magical swords it came in real handy. For the first time all series I was on the plus side of the ledger when it came to combat ratio. Huray for me.
If I have any beef with this book it's how many times I got shafted for not having Magi Magic or Kai Alchemy!!!! dammit Joe i'm a kai lord not a magician. That being said I believe Kai Alchemy will be the new skill Scaredy Cat takes before attempting the Rune war...
I am excited about this next book as I have no idea what it's about and maybe just maybe I won't have to run away so much from the fighting
Here's hoping....

I'm glad my advice helped, nice to see this Rincewind of Kai Lords emerge triumphant.

Hahaha, now I have a mental image of that. A Kai Grand Master behaving like Rincewind.

wildhare, I just like the running summaries that you describe for your Lone Wolf adventures.

wildhare, I just like the running summaries that you describe for your Lone Wolf adventures. I agree, when are we going to read about the further adventures of Scaredy Cat? I had to wikipedia Rincewind. It sounds very similar to a book I read a long time ago, about a protagonist that was ridiculed because he didn't seem to have any sort of power/talent. And it turns out that he had a very unique power - he could survive any deadly magic. Anybody know what book this was? I think it was the first in a series.

This was an interesting illustration: www.projectaon.org/en/xhtml/lw/23mh/sect34.htmIt looks like the Grand Master isn't above kicking an opponent below the belt. Although getting jumped by a group of bandits is dirty fighting too, so the GM is justified in responding in kind! Can you imagine the GM's stance? He's standing on one leg, while using both arms to knock back several swords. Now that's perfect balance.

Rincewind is the "hero" of a The Colour of Magic, the first in Terry Pratchett's long-running Discworld series. He went on to appear in several other books in the same series. However your description also sounds like A Spell For Chameleon by Piers Anthony.
