There is supposed to be a monster event since one hour ago. Anyone noticed it and how to access it?
Talk on the forum is that it is hidden this time around.

It's on the Explore and Attack! menu.

Right. Seems to have been added there now... I specifically checked that menu earlier for new options.
Wonder why it was late.
Arggghhh... Need huge amounts of more HP to avoid getting sunk by the middle one. It is still at 85% of its Health.
Hmmm... I think I will comverse my AP for 50 minutes to see how healthy it is then.

The little one was gone before I had a chance to attack it.

That's annoying. It's the first time I've seen a special event of any kind, and it's all over before I wake up in the morning.

Yea Id love to get in on an event, just a matter of timing I guess. Maybe I'll be lucky and they'll respawn during my night shift....
Anyway, latest stats for me -
Pirate Pirate eviltb Ship: Axe of Naar (Frigate) Level: 34 (Exp: 817,494/845,650) Craft: 33 Gunnery: 114 Navigation: 6 Stats Points: 0 HP: 5556/5556 Capacity: 1530/1700 Speed: 191 (+6) Armor: 4 (3.7%)
Any comment on whether thats 'average' for my lvl and ship (lvl1 frigate)??

Have you been putting all your stat points into gunnery? I've been a little less specialized and my stats are 32/75/15 at level 27.

Yea pretty much, since Im a pirate and we use guns, thats what Ive been putting them into. My split for my stats is 2/1 gunnery/craft when I level up.

Looks like frigates are considerably slower than corvettes. I'm a lower level than you and presumably using inferior kit, but my current speed is 260.

Your speed depends mainly on Parts and Navigation score. There are some fast ships you can buy but you should probably avoid them as a Pirate. In fact it is difficult to see who would buy a Hammerhead. Your ship is the Vanguard, correct?
You have been putting a tad to much into Gunnery. Not sure but you may want a bit more Craft.
You can probably forego Navigation and buy good gear which grants Speed boosts you need.
As for HP. Ask yourself on which attack you usually sink NPC:s. Is the first attack or the first attack leaves them near sunk, then your HP is fine. If you need two attacks and have difficulty to take them down with that, then you should start to worry about your HP.
For my own part I sink many ships on first attack or they will be near sunk. No ship I've met so far has been close to surviving my second attack.
Ship: The Singing Crescent (Frigate; Merchant O'War) Level: 39 (Exp: 1,348,299/1,430,150) Craft: 59 Gunnery: 0 Navigation: 117 Stats Points: 0 HP: 5879/5879 Capacity: 1860/3025 Speed: 417 (+117) Armor: 11 (9%) This is my offensive formation. I swap Hull and Stabilizers to down my speed and boost my HP for my defensive formation.
I have used my free stat reset around level 30, so I traded away my Gunnery for more Craft and Navigation. Before level 20 an Explorer needs Gunnery. Not so important with Gunnery after you can get Rams.

So are you saying your Craft affects how much dmg you do? I thought Gunnery did that for guns??

So are you saying your Craft affects how much dmg you do? I thought Gunnery did that for guns?? Craft gives you Hitpoints and also lets you reduce the amount of damage you take.

Yea well I knew that, but I thought Gunnery adjust how much dmg your guns do. In your last post you said I should worry about my HP if it takes me a long time to kill NPCs. For me, most NPCs take between 3-4 shots of my guns to take down, each gun doing about 700-800 dmg each shot.

*chuckles* From my standpoint, there is not much possible in the way of one "master combination" of the three stats. Everyone has their own style, learns both the strengths and weaknesses of that style, and eventually finds a way to maximize the strengths while minimizing the weaknesses.
