I already did. They gave it a 10/10. Which is UNHEARD OF! Nobody gives a 10/10.

I seriously doubt that any game is better than sex and I'm not even a fan of sexual intercourse!

I seriously doubt that any game is better than sex and I'm not even a fan of sexual intercourse! Sex is one of those variable things that depends a lot on environment, mood, and (of course) who you are engaging in it with. The best sex is a transcendent experience that blows the roof off of most other activities, but video games earn points for consistency, and on any given day, GTA4 could very well be better than sex.

Gamestop is opening their doors at 11 o'clock tonight. I have already bought my copy and it will be put into my waiting arms at 12:00 midnight. I'll be waiting in line.

Cool. Everyone who's getting it today, please let us know what you think.
Magazine/Site reviews are all well and good, but that IGN review showed that even professional reviewers can get overexcited!

I got it at midnight (approximately 3 hours ago). Great game so far. Awesome graphics, way better AI. Cops no longer shoot at you for something minor. They'll only try and kill you if you kill somebody or attack a police officer. If you come to a dead stop after traveling 90 miles an hour you will actually fly through the windshield. Lots of cool stuff, still figuring stuff out. Strip club is awesome.

I won't be playing it, mainly because I don't believe you need to have endless swearing, ridiculous violence and distinctly adult themes to have a good time. Then again, my opinion isn't going to have any effect on the millions who will buy it!

Most of my favorite games are by LucasArts and they always stick to T ratings. I'm still going to enjoy this game and I liked the Euphoria engine (which will also be in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed).

Incidentally, my TV, XBox and GTAIV are all on order! -GB

If some of the worst aspects of GTA offend you, there is a toned-down version being sold in Australia and New Zealand. Don't know how you would get your hand on a copy though.

I'm not trying to sound like a puritan, but then I always think that rivers of obscenities get nobody anywhere. I enjoy mindless violence as much as the next man when I'm blowing off steam (I found that Carmageddon: Carpocalypse Now was excellent for de-stressing with at university), but mainly it's the modern urban setting (which I'm not a fan of) and the gratuitous swearing.

To be fair the swearing in GTA is no worse then you would expect in something like Goodfellas,or other similar movie. Still, as a game it rocks. SO many sites have given it a perfect 10 (IGN, Gamespot). Best moment for me so far, when I logged onto my 360, on my friends list who where online, all where playing GTAIV

I accept your point in general (gratuitous swearing is bad), but I never felt that the swearing was particularly gratuitous in GTA. OK, there was a hell of a lot of it, but I felt it was used effectively to portray the characters involved. Fair enough of course if you dislike the characters As for the setting - no comment on that. Each to their own and all that. -GB
