Oh, there's a little 30-seconds add before the actual video.

I'm playing through Oblivion. Awesome game, and there are some really, really awesome fan made mods out there for it too.
I'm also very, very aware that GTA:IV is out this month. But I don't have an XBox360 to play it on. And if I were to get an XBox I'd want a big 32" TV too. Decisions, decisions...

I've bought Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault this weekend from a store selling used games. Nothing very different than the other games of the series that I have (Airborne and Allied Assault), but still a good game.

I have been busy this evening, setting up my faithful old portable TV and hooking up some equally elderly consoles. Oddly, they look a million times better via SCART on that thing than on my big fancy LCD TV.

Yeah, it is pretty much worthless to get a 360 or a PS3 and not have a nice, LCD or Plasma TV with at least HD. HDMI would be better, trust me. Sarra, who has his PS3 hooked up to a 50" Toshiba Plasma HDTV.

Im playing all my consoles, inc X360, very nicely through my standard def 32" widescreen. But then the TV Ive got can do 60hz so I get a little pic improvement. Still, playing through Lost Odyessy right now and for some of the cut-scenes I do wish I had HD.....

It will amuse you to learn that after getting my replacement console I played through Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect (first time) with the machine still set in SD mode. I was just flicking through the system settings one evening and went "hang on a minute!" Guess it had been so long since I'd played 360 I forgot to check. Duh. What do you think of Lost Odyssey?

This post could also go in the "What did you do today?" thread, but I felt that it could be also good here. Yesterday, I went to a friend's house with my old NES, SNES and GameBoy games (with the Super GameBoy) and we spent the evening playing games on his 54" LCD TV. Woah! That was just a surrealistic experience, playing these old games on such a big modern screen. We plan to repeat the experience soon. I have also tried for the first time the Virtual Boy that my friend still has. I'm surprise that it was a commercial failure, because the 3D effects weren't bad... for the time! This morning, when I've talked of that evening with some of my colleagues, one of them told me that she still had her Intellivision system while another one had still her Commodre 64 and VIC 20.

I have a few old machines kicking around - Dreamcast, Mega Drive with Mega CD, N64, Saturn. As I posted here the other day I now have a few of 'em set up properly. Thinking about using the DC for NES emulation, tried a SNES emulator and it works pretty well. I have also been offered an Amiga, thinking about buying it.

What do you think of Lost Odyssey? Its great, just made it onto Disc 2. RPGs really are my bread and butter game, I simply love em. And this game is sufficiently big to keep me occupied to at least GTAIV at the end of the month.
