Twiler felt a tap on his shoulder and turned to see BC asking him where the nearest exit was. Something about a report on the Durncrags.
"Er... I think there's one over by the peanut stand. But don't you think you'd better get ready for your fight?"
Before he'd even finished, the Kai Lord was off and running towards the peanut seller like a mad animal. Twiler watched him go. Certainly it was an amazing demonstration of the extra agility a devotee of the hunting discipline gained.

"Wow! Some real surprises in this fight, folks!"
"What did I tell you, Ron? That beast creature has got some tricks up his sleeve for sure! I'm not quite sure how he did it, but he appears to have turned into the famous Alasi Reva... er... Revel... how do you say that?"
"It'll be interesting to see how Sara reacts to this. The rumour is that her and Alasi are related by blood. Maybe it's just a rumour, but in any case, Alasi is an extremely important figure in Dessi history. It would be like sending a Kai Lord to fight the founder of their order!"
"Didn't that happen at one of the tournaments?"
"Hey, and look at Circle 2! Another fight seems to be getting under way! Those in the inner rings are crowding to see Beowuuf and Sara fight, and so I think they may have missed the arrival of Evil To Be and Black Cat!"
"Er... I think it's Evil TB."
"Are you sure, Thelor?"
"I think it stands for Evil Tuberculosis. And what do you mean, Black Cat? Last I heard, he was seen running at over 90 miles an hour towards the Kai Monastery."

Morgan smiled from the makeshift throne that was her vantage point for the tournament. She had been skeptical of the powers of the stones, not sure if they would actually amount to much. Seeing Alasi in the flesh had convinced her. She'd always wanted to see the Vakeros knight and briefly pondered if there was a way to get him to sign an autograph before he metamorphed back into the wolf.
Though she'd doubted them, she at least knew what the stones would do. The crowd didn't know she'd given them to the fighters, and their reactions were golden. She never tired of seeing confusion spread across the face of a person.

Black Cat was still reeling from Evil TB's attack, and Morgan knew he was distracted by other matters.
Meanwhile, the match with Beowuuf and Sara seemed to be an almost friendly sparring match. And Sara had much to learn from the older Vakeros, that much Morgan could see. And yet she sensed a deeper power within Sara, the same power Alasi had shown moments before when blocking her insanely fast attacks.
Morgan wondered if that power would show itself before the match was won.

The Giak sitting on the bench gets up and does some stretches in preperation for his match when another identical Giak enters ands charges at him screaming
"Damn you GUG HAGOR this is my fight not yours."
The two Giaks wrestle briefly until a sickening snap is heard from one of them, the other stands up gives the one on the ground a kick and then shrugs his shoulders.

Dharn continued to doze off while still trying to watch the matches. As much as he tried to concentrate, he find it all to hard due to the past few day's trouble. Even though he was one of the first few to enroll in the tournament, he had trouble getting to the stadium. First he had to return to his village to get his grandfather's staff, then on the way back, his cart decided to loose it's wheel into the wild. He tried to coax the horse to move faster without the cart but that resulted in it running away from him during lunch. He tried hitch hiking but the kind old lady who helped him took him farther away. Finally he had to resort to walking all day long to reached the stadium.
Other than his sleepiness, Dharn was already pumped up for the tournament. His little hiking trip served well to oil his fighting muscles, not to mention the occasional wild animal that littered the way. He managed to get used again to his grandfather's metal Staff, a different beast from his usual wooden staff, and remembered the few magical trick it could do due to Shianti Orb fused with it.
Now, the only thing he needs five more minutes....
Five more minutes...

It was odd, but Badjaarii Bewelios -known to most as Bewildered Badger- felt slightly nauseous. He'd been at sea for so long that he couldn't quite get used to the ground staying still. Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he drew both rapiers with a flourish that drew a hearty cheer from his crew. Or at any rate, that part of my crew not currently getting drunk in the hospitality tent he thought wryly. That was fine though, as it meant fewer witnesses if everything went wrong. Looking around the stadium, he spotted Dharn, his opponent for the match, and offered a respectful nod of the head. That staff the other carried had the look of a magical artifact. There's ways to deal with magic, he thought. Just hope I get to use them...

Inside BC's head:
"I don't have time to be here: the Unoram is flooding a small village and I have to go help the people!"
OOC: I'll try to make my next post tonight.

"And now folks, it looks like four fights are underway! Now the crowd is running back and forth to catch the sights! Now we'll finally sell some of those globes!"
"Though I see a lot of people waiting at Circle 1 to see how the Beowuuf and Sara fight concludes. Some interesting twists in that one, Thelor."
"Yes, the healing sword was a big surprise, and one that I'm still somewhat confused about. How did he do that?"
"How do any of these fighters do what they do? I think that's one of the draws of these tournaments, to see incredible superhuman feats like that!"
"Of course it is. But an even bigger draw is those globes that you can buy right outside the stadium. Right? Right?"
"Well, if they really do as you've claimed, it seems people might need them after all. The other two fights are just as heated, if not more so, than the Beowuuf fight! By the way, the crowd really seems to have shifted in regards to that fight. Sara has become a new favourite for her tenacity, and Beowuuf has recieved more respect than we ever imagined he would, for his unique bag of tricks, including the summoning of Alasi Relivaur and the healing sword."
"Sorry to interupt, Ron, but some harsh news has just arrived. It appears that the body of Wise Fox has been found somewhere in the Eshnar region. It is several days dead, at least. A sad occurence, and one that will certainly keep him from fighting in this tournament."
"The Eshnar region... I've been hearing some strange rumours about that place. You know they cut off all the trade routes to the city?"
"I know, I know... but I like to stay away from rumours like that. The last time we followed a rumour, we ended up in the middle of Kalte without our skivvies. You remember that?"
"I try to forget."
"In any case, the fight in Circle 2 we haven't yet introduced, we've been so busy with the Beowuuf fight. In this ring, Black Cat (who needs no introduction, and if he did it would take too long) is fighting Evil Tuberculosis, a shady figure who it is rumoured is part of the Dark Kai!"
"What I'd say about rumours?"
"This fight has a thin crowd right now, but that's sure to change soon. As it is, everyone is talking about Black Cat's latest retort, the strangely phrased: Get off on me! We're not sure whether to interpret it as a sexual euphemism or as a enraged order. Rumour has it that a fly flew into his mouth, making him choke over the statement."
"What did I say about rumours? The last rumour I want to get sucked into is one involving Black Cat's mouth!"
"Now why would you say such a thing? He's got a very attractive mouth, or so says BC monthly (which he owns) and the BC Broadcasting channel (also his) and the label on this here bottle of Kai Brew (which he owns)."

Morgan's clapping seemed somewhat arbitrary and more than a little disinterested, Twiler noticed. The woman had briefly risen to pay homage to Beowuuf and Sara's fight, or so it seemed to the crowd. Twiler, within close proximity to her, noticed that her eyes were watching the circle in which Shadowcrow had just made an entrance. He also noticed she wasn't smilling.
Had she not enjoyed the fight? Or did she simply not care one way or the other? Twiler had seen her act more and more in this perplexingly perfunctory manner and it worried him.
Morgan had seemed so eager to hold the tournament, steadfastly organizing it at the cost of other (perhaps more important) projects for the Yellow Robes. So why did she seem so disinterested now?

"Since you cannot tell which is which, let me say it plainly - for what it is worth from this underhanded ex-commander, you have impressed me with your skill, your courage, and your gaul."
Sarra smiled as she walked back to her seat in the bleachers. As she walked away she turned and said, "it looks like I was right. I was victorious after all."
For that is what Sarra had meant. Win or lose the contest, she knew that she had given her superior a serious run for his money. And to a Vakeros, almost nothing is held in higher value than respect.

Beowuuf still thinks of his own fight with Sarra, but takes his mind from it by watching the other fights. The grudge match between Nak and Kai is certainly the biggest draw - though Beowuuf is sure he recognises the boxing style of the Grand Master... Beowuuf makes sure to cheer encouragement to the man against a most evil and skillful foe.
However, the feorcious fight of the dwarf and giak draws Beowuuf's personal interest. It also mkaes him incredibly worried, for he cannot tell if Lady Morgan has sufficient measures in place to stop it becoming a blood bath, despite her assurances.
A surprise rush form the crowd of a black shape draws Beowuuf's eye to the third fight. A Kai has jumped into the ring with, it looks liek a normal peasant and a pirate. An odd pairing already, and the blacked cloaked kai makes this the most unusual match on. Beowuuf wonders if this is an allowed and known interruption or some strange matter of honour. Then the Kai takes on both combatants without Lady Morgan blinking, so Beowuuf realises it is simply some form of draw for the contest.
Beowuuf is quie impressed with the peasant, the man seemed out of place in the ring, but his subsequent skills with the quarterstaff show he was not set up just for the amusement of the crowd looking for blood.

"The fight between Black Cat and Evil TB is reaching a head, Thelor!"
"It's been a good, fast fight. Reminds me of the old days of the fencing tournament."
"Did you get to go to that, then?"
"Indeed. It was quite the picnic for a young pick pocket."
"Wow... that must've been before I knew you."
"It was a good seven years ago, I believe."
"Ah! Evil TB has made a decisive strike! Black Cat is bleeding freely from his throat!"
"But wait! The wound is closeing! Is this the healing power of the Kai being demonstrated?"
"And Black Cat is running for his opponent! This could be it, Thelor! The end of the fight!"
And in the stands, Morgan smiled. To her, it was obvious who had won this fight. She turned away from the match, not needing to see the final blow. Instead she focused on the match between the giak and the dwarf.
