I don't know if there is a lot of Italian readers around, but Lone Wolf gamebooks are back in publication in Italy! On October 31st, the first of the Lucca Comics & Games 2013, Joe Dever will be present to launch the Italian version of the expanded edition of Flight from the Dark. Published by Vincent Books, the new Italian version also has a new cover artwork made by Alberto Dal Lago, the same guy that did the cover for the Mongoose edition nearly seven years ago! I must say that I prefer this new cover over the original: If you want more detail, visit Vincent Books' website: www.vincentbooks.com/BTW, like it was said earlier, Joe Dever will be at the Lucca Comics & Games, so expect some update about the future of the publication of Lone Wolf in English.

Going to be there! I didn't know the launch will Joe would have been today. Usually he was present on the Saturday. Either way I'm forced by events to go tomorrow and will surely get it! I was very disappointed when EL edition stopped the release of the new books (with no information at all on why they did it) and was starting to think I should have got them in English through the net. Glad I can purchase it tomorrow and hope they're going for a quick release of the next books!

I met Joe and got my signed copy of Flight from the Dark! The stand was really small compared to past years, they were selling all kind of Magnamund maps too. I managed to ask why he changed publisher and he sounded pretty upset with E.L. saying they didn't agree on some translation. So I'm really please of this new release and what it offer. Black hardback cover, the image of Dal Lago is on a protective cover that on the inside has... a colored map of Sommerlund and Durenor! For the first time we get colored map too! And it seem we're getting the real terms on our land finally. Now even the Italian edition mention that we're Kai warriors (as opposed to "Ramas") and we've got the Sommerswerd (as opposed to a more generic "Sword of the Sun") this I found just by flipping pages so I'm eager to find out what more has changed!

Meeting Joe Dever sounds excellent, Shadow Crow. And the book sounds good too. Were the Italian originals all black and white then? What does Ramas mean? Or was it just an alternative fantasy word? I agree with BC that the cover is better - the monastery is perhaps a little enormous, but the look really says Magnamund to me. Good stuff.

Hi Simey! Indeed it was good to meet Joe! I have to search at my parent's house for the Legends of Lone Wolf books because there the translator explained exactly why they dropped the term "Kai" but I think it was something one the line of "It does not sound well in Italian". And I forgot to mention the producers of the App "Blood on the Snow where there too to show the improvement on the videogame they0ll soon release. They've done massive improvement confronting what they showed to me with the video we saw sometime ago on their site!

The covers are so fantastic!!!
I am sure the cover for LW7 has gathered some inspiration from the corrsponding novel, the Legends of Lone Wolf: "The Secret of Kazan Oud"

Just to let you know that the new cover for book 8 should be revealed soon. Also, Joe stated a few times on his Facebook page that, when/if Mantikore gets the rights to republish books 1 to 17, they will use the new Italian covers.

Here's the new cover for book 8 in Italian, which might eventually become the new cover in English too (when/if Mantikore gets the publishing rights).

That cover is so scary that I'd run away from it instead of fight it!
