With the upcoming release of Lone Wolf 29, we have been given very good hints by Joe Dever that it takes place 18 years after the events in Vampirium and the Hunger of Sejanoz.
Now what was our New Order Grand Master doing all these while? He can't be still a dashing young man doing all the swashbuckling acts now, right? Or maybe he imbibed some immortality potion? or went to hibernate in a cave for 18 years....
Come on, people...let's come out with your wackiest reasons!

Grand Masters age 1 year for every 5 that elapses, so he would still be very young.
So I think he probably has done much like what he did in the books. There is no shortage of war, conflicts and evil during this time.
Mostly, he has probably been toiling with carrying rocks in the New Order Monastery at Lorn.

Well, Joe Dever is older now, as are we, the majority of his readers. He may just write an adventure gamebook about a really old Kai.
156
It is mid-afternoon as you enter the cottage. No one appears to be there, but there's a lovely fire going in the hearth, and an extremely appealing high-backed chair set in front of it.
If you want to sit down in front of the fire for your afternoon nap, turn to 201.
If you want to try and find some comfy slippers first, turn to 84.
If you've forgotten why you're here, turn to 310.
If you've forgotten where you are, turn to 156.
If you're getting the feeling you've read this paragraph at least half a dozen times already, close the book and have nap yourself.

The 18 year older NO GM decided to take a sabbatical, rethink his/her life to contemplate all the violence resulting from their actions and renounce the order.
They have settled down as a peaceful Cener Druid, making wonderful elixers and not harming a fly. They are one with nature.

The New Order Grandmaster actually found a woman and settled down in happy matrimony. Lone Wolf, in a fit of jealousy, withheld advancement in the Order.
