LW 13 Bonus adventure, section 1, 2nd paragraph says,
"The surviving Darklords remain in their cities but they are no longer the threat they once were and your order's work is able to proceed in relative safety."
LW 12 sect 350 indicates "the rapid demise of the Darklords"
LW 13 "Story So Far..." indicates demise of the Darklords.
Soooo.... is the bonus adventure a clarification, an oversight, or contradiction of the status of Darklords after section 350 of LW 12?
My eyes went wide when I saw the statement in the bonus adventure.
The LWERPG had kept Darklord Khatellu alive for story reasons, and maybe this is a nod to the fanfic?

Could be a mistaken reference to the 'lesser darklords' the xagash (Sp?)

I suppose so...in many sources...the Xaghash were always referred as lesser Darklords.
Perhaps due to their size and strength, which gives them a status as high-ranking commanders of the Darklands armies.

To the best of my knowledge, it's an insufficiently clear reference to the Xaghash, the lesser Darklords.

Well, then I like to think the other way as Koreth mentioned earlier...a nod to the Lone Wolf ERPG! yeah!!!
But even if you take the stand of the bonus adventure...it will mean at face value that the Darklords (those who form the 20 Lords) are no more a threat to the peace of Magnamund...maybe they can even die after seeing a furious rat...

Not sure if JD ever read anything there. A surviving Darklord is not widely broadcast on the web or otherwise.
Also, the plot for the Darklord was for transport to Daziarn and expand a realm there and return at a later time in the front of an army.
The general idea was that the books stated that they were gone at the start of book #13, but the LW ERPG (as the bonus adventure) is placed before the Story so far in book 13.
You'd have to go look at story names and plots to find the info.
I'd not interpret Xagash as Darklords. History tells us that they did not gain leadership overall. It is people like Cadak (LW 14) and Xaol (LW 25) which controls over the factions in the darklands. In some places like Kagorst and Akagazad it is the Nadziranim which takes control (LW 15).
However, I think it more likely is a possible nod to what is about to happen in book 29-32. Maybe related to the influx of Agrashi which the novel chronicles are about.

Yes, well, this is an interesting argument both ways. And I enjoyed the mini-adventure.
I do not feel there is enough information one way or another to decide.
Yet another mystery...

Very strange. Unfortunately, I have not had the funds to pick up the new chronicles except for a couple reads at the library. My knowledge is thus limited to Project Aon and my own history with the books.
Maybe I will pick up the new Grand Master adventures. Might help with the MSN run of the adventures. How do they compare with the old books? Same sections and everything?

Hello. I'd not interpret Xagash as Darklords. History tells us that they did not gain leadership overall. I agree with you: we don't know any powerful or at less leader Xagash. But that's something strange because Joe really talked of Xagash being "lesser Darklords". However, I think it more likely is a possible nod to what is about to happen in book 29-32. Maybe related to the influx of Agrashi which the novel chronicles are about. Maybe, but why Joe didn't talked about that directly in the new versions of LW adventures?

Yes, well, this is an interesting argument both ways. And I enjoyed the mini-adventure. Me too! I just played it and that's one of my favourite mini-adventure, great job Seneschal! I love playing a character quoted in The Story so Far section (just a little detail I had forgotten, but so important), I love the ambient, the travel, and the play. And when I discover new background informations (even few), I'm always happy! And in this story, there's some new background informations. Just some other strange things I noticed (like the surviving Darklord): - Quarlen seems to be Sommlend ?! (but maybe I wrongly interpreted the text?) - Several days of walking between Quarlen and Ruanon forest, without mentioning the Maakengorge or the city of Ruanon. - Mentions of Cloesia/Cloesian (and not the usual Cloeasia/Cloeasian). Maybe Seneschal could give some explanations?
