Hello!
Yesterday I spent the day (well, afternoon) at Capcoms UK HQ previewing one of their upcoming games, that game being Dark Void[/u].
You can read about the game in the above link and here[/u] are some pics of the day!
The game plays pretty well, much like a standard 3rd-person shooter. You aim and shoot like you do in Gears and theres a cover system which works pretty much the same way. The game is done using the Unreal III engine, which was obvious from playing it. The biggest addition or twist is the fact that you get a jetpack! This allows you to hover while raining down death but it also provides another element of gameplay, as you are able to swap between flying and hovering modes at the touch of a button. The flying parts took some while to get used to, like learning how to fly in Rogue Squadron all over again. Needless to say it took some getting used to, but once I figured it out I crashed less then when I started! The entire game was unlocked for us to play, and in the 3 hours I managed to get to the 3rd Episode, then promptly skipped to the last boss just to see what it was (its big!). Wether or not doing half the game in 3 hours is good or not remains to be seen. I was playing on Hardcore and despite some deaths in flying managed to hold-fast. Others playin as well experienced the same.
Anyway it was nice to get to go cause lets face it, Capcom!! Didnt get a glimpse on any other games, so nothing about the new SF, Resident Evil, Dead Rising 2 or Lost Planet 2 Im afraid. Apparently they are planning on doing something similar for LP2 though, so I'll try and worm my way into that for you guys
