1. Chrome 2. Cedar 3. Just plain vulgar 4. Ninja stars 5. Superman 6. And, most tasteless of them all, Jesus: Vote!

In my heart of hearts no 4, I would love to award no 6 some form of tastelessness award (just like the question in the poll) but I went with what I would actually use.

Good to see you've thought long and hard about this!

I like the convenience of the shuriken. With the more traditional hangers, you still need a hook to put the hanger on. But with the shuriken, wherever you go, you can make your own hook in an instant.
So convenient for business meetings etc.

Also, you're in Japan and therefore presumably live near a conveniently located ninja supplies store.

Because I'm very conservative (as all of you know - and if you don't know, I'm telling it to you right now - and if you don't believe it, you should - and if you still can't believe it, then I don't know), I've voted for the wooden one. Actually, I would prefer a wooden one with this horizontal "stick" to hang my trousers, Made in Germany.

I like the ninja stars, but my heart belongs to Jesus. 6.

I felt a bit sorry for the neglected Nike one, but it's so disgusting that I just couldn't vote for it. Though the traditionalist in me favours a simple wooden design, the secret badass within voted for shuriken.

Samildanach speaks great wisdom.
I actually have nothing against Nike (I think that puts me in something of a minority worldwide), but that hanger is just tasteless.
The wooden one would have been my choice too, had the shuriken not been available.
Sadly, I think Japanese people would be just as freaked out as anyone else if I threw a shuriken into the wall of the office and then hung my jacket on it. This is a shame, especially when you consider how much Japanese business etiquette is built out of old military principles.

People might be surprised to hear this about me, but I actually like simplicity. My mind is already so filled with junk that to have a neon pink Nike hanger or a ridiculous Jesus or Superman hanger would drive me to insanity.
I am highly tempted to go with the Shuriken. I really like the dual purpose of the Shuriken. Defend yourself AND hang your clothes at the same time. However, I have to take it out of the running because I feel the dual purpose in this case is a little forced, like claiming that cake makes a decent pillow. Yes, it is true that clothes COULD be hung on that edge of the Shuriken, but the sharpeness of those edges might make this a bad idea for clothing, not to mention the hand that reaches blindly in the morning for a work shirt!
Therefore, I respectfully go with the simple chrome hanger. Gets the job done without any of the fuss or loud noises. Now, if only it unfolds like the Nazi hanger in Raiders of the Lost Ark...

I'm not sure whether to be delighted or concerned that this idle flight of spoonerismic fancy inspired by Chris777's thread has resulted in such soul-searching and thoughtful replies.
I'd be willing to wager that some of the people who've voted in this thread don't even bother to vote in elections.
