Hi, it is really an impressive piece of writing on Anskarvern. I really like the details and little details dotted throughout the article.
At the risk of being branded as fussy, I like to point out two things
1) Location (Page 40) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Situated west of Toran and on a peninsula that juts out towards the Kaltersee, Anskavern cuts a dramatic shape on the North Western coastline of Sommerlund. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just to clarify...in all the maps of Sommerlund, Anskavern is shown as 'north-east' of Toran...
2) Baron of Anskavern Not sure if there is a change, but isn't the ruler of Anskavern Baron Avan Caldar in most canon sources?

First of all, thanks and don't worry about being fussy - mistakes happen and errata definitely happens (if you've seen the errata for the D&D 4th Edition you'll know what I mean)
Baron Avan should be the ruler yes, Portis was a character developed for the Sommerlund Guide circa MS 5000. You can probably replace Portis with Avan though. It's a problem with writing in two seperate eras.
There are a couple of ways you can handle this: Replace Portis with Avan name wise, or add to the secrets section:
Just before the attack on the Kai Monastery Baron Portis vanishes leaving a power gap in Anskavern for a few weeks. Eventually he is replaced by Avan Caldar. It is not known if Portis has been killed or kidnapped.
If you're using this as part of an RPG setting it could be a cool springboard for your players.
Regarding Anskavern I could have probably worded that description a little better. It's meant to be on the North Western side of the peninsula. Which is on the North Eastern coastline of Sommerlund.

Ah, I see. I was looking through Anskavern again, and was wondering about Turla Ree. It says he is a "Sommlending aspirant to the Kai Monastery." Does that mean he was an actual ranked Kai, or he just dreamed about joining? Because it'd make for some interesting storylines if LW wasn't really the last of the Kai. Similarly, in Port Bax, Laughing Fire is an "ex- Kai Monk that failed in his teachings" who extensively trained Misha, daughter of the Thieves' Guild head. What's keeping him from becoming a Kai again? Was he stripped of his powers, or could he possibly start teaching the ways of the Kai (or just the skills to gifted members of the Thieves' Guild) if something happened to LW? Turla: He was an aspirant, he had dreams about joining the Kai Order, as many Sommlending often aspire(d) to do. If you want to run that kind of story as a roleplaying scenario, you can, or convince your GM to do so. As for Port Bax: If I remember correctly the article I wrote for Port Bax was circa MS 5000 before the fall of the Kai Monastery and part of the Lone Wolf d20 system version. However with some tweaking it's possible to do anything. The purpose of these articles is to expand more on Magnamund, fill in some gaps, create whole new avenues of adventure and interest.

I think the confusion arose because Aspirant is one of the Kai ranks (6 Disciplines, for the record).

Yeah, though aspirant would have been given an A in that case. I can see where confusion would arise though
