I will let the dust settle on the current mega challenge called Magnamund Rescue. Perhaps a month until this new competition will start.
This time it is not a full competition with multiple events, but just one single event which uses the rules I've used for Casiorn / Avalar and the Overland Challenge.
Speed of contest: Low. In average: A couple of posts per week over a couple of months. Probably finished by Christmas or thereabouts.
This will probably be a dungeon crawl of one type or another
I have a tentative idea of an old subterranean Shianti Necropolis in the Stornlands close to the Cener Mountains. Expect lots of undead, and a host of grave-robbers and other adventurers who venture there to claim an old Shianti relic which is believed to be hidden somewhere inside the Necropolis.

Is this the signup thread? I'll be happy to take part again, of course.

Is this the signup thread? I'll be happy to take part again, of course. Well, not really. You only need to say you are interested and can play here. You do not need to make a character sheet with stats, abilities and equipment at this point.

A few new fresh adventurers would be nice.
Meanwhile, post things you would like to see. Rule changes needed and so and so forth.

Hmm, what would I like to see? A couple more enemy types perhaps?
I concur it would be nice to see a new player or two.
C'mon guys, participation doesn't mean a big time investment and it's good fun.

True some new blood would be good. Myself I would like to see maybe some more NPCs, as all I seem to do is move, kill, loot, move, kill, loot, move, kill, loot, heal, move, end game. Not that I dont mind slaughtering people, but a bit more "hello how are you" would be nice

Yeah, doomy got a good one on one with Mar, and I got to be hero to a village. Those NPC interractions are nice, and also ramp up the tension - especially to other stealthy people! Should we make ourselves known and risk losing advantage, or say strike first, ask questions later?

Should we make ourselves known and risk losing advantage, or say strike first, ask questions later? Hmph! What a ridiculous question! Kill 'em all, take their stuff. OOC: I agree that the NPCs were a nice feature. While we had some in Casiorn they were of the static quest-giver variety. Mar was a very useful companion. Not that much of a fighter compared to yours truly, but a good scout and another target for the bad guys. Speaking of bad guys, how about a named villain this time round? So I know who I'm shooting.

Ooh, someone to hate and pool our focus if we meet up might be nice! I guess a Tier IV so have can't just blast our way out of seeing him

Maybe even a Tier V so we have to work together as a team to defeat him/her/it.

Well, if we go with the Necropolis ideas it would not be a named boss at the end.
However, I believe rumours may have it that certain unscrupolous Lords have sent out their scouts and enterprising adventurers to get the artifact before you. Certain good aligned lords have done the same. I guess I could impart the names of some of those sent out.
Many of the enemies will be faction based. Evil, Good and those mainly acting for personal greed, and anything in between.
This time around I will probably not give monsters Tiers but a Threat value and the decide monster composition from that.
So yeah I believe you will get the chance to interact with characters (NPCs) more. They will not be as well equipped as you, but will have decent abilitiy scores.

Any plans for rules changes? The only thing that bothered me was that I felt my anti-magic cloak was a bit useless due to not stacking with my anti-elemental protection from my armour to halve, say, damage from a fire spell then subtract 2 from the remainder. However I know how it works now so I'm not complaining.
NOTE: This would obviously mean taking no damage from spells fairly often, so you may consider it too powerful.

I'd advocate that they did stack, in fact everything stacks in items.
However, you didn't ever notice that since nothing dealt both magic damage and elemental damage in one attack.
Problem is that the cloak does not give resistance to spells It gives resistance to magic damage. (Or to compare in D&D terms: It's not Spell resistance but Magic immunity that you are granted by the cloak.)
I do not think Spell resistance will be introduced since I do not have a clear idea to just how broad use it will see.
Do I need to check it for everything magical which deals damage? Means that I need to know if monsters damage are magical or not. Is the damage of a magically created monster magical ?
