There's a lot to cover, but here's the top three things that caught my attention at E3:
1) Last Guardian Wow. Just... wow. So far, the Ico team is 2 for 2 in games I've given perfect scores. I doubt that they'll be ending that record with Last Guardian. It looks incredible, just from style alone.
2) Metroid If I rebuy the Wii, it will mark the first time in history that I've bought a system for myself twice. I didn't think any game could make me consider that, but... fuckin' hell... a Metroid game set during Samus' past? We know that it's her past because that's Adam-what's-his-face from Fusion, the guy who calls her Lady. The guy who's dead by the time the main series commences. And a mother brain re-emergence... ah, that would be awesome.
3) Final Fantasy XIII How this game is going to fit on the Xbox 360 is beyond me. Will it be like Riven for the PS1? On five discs that you have to change out constantly? Anyways, the 360 is shit, so I don't care. I just want the game to be half as good as it looks.
I figure I'd better defend my bashing of the 360. Now, I realize that Mass Effect and Left 4 Dead, among other games for the system, are awesomely wonderful games. However, I can't get behind a gaming platform that seems based around monopolizing the market and squeezing out any creative competition. That's Nintendo all over again, and while I loved the SNES, I don't want another monopoly.

Hmmm. Unfortunately I would have to disagree with you. Im a 360 owner and while I do have a massive hard-on for Kingdom Hearts and played both games to death on the PS2, Im afraid that Sony has had too many fails with the PS3. Before anyone says anything, I dont give a crap about blu-ray. I dont own a blu-ray player, nor will I be buying one. Ive even refused gift ideas about blu-ray. My dvd collection is fine as it is and Im not buying everything again in blu-ray "just because". Ive never really liked Sony. I can appreciate your point about M$ monopolization, hell I rekon Bill Gates goes to costume parties as the Monopoly guy! But still, when you've got a big enough stick like M$ to wave around catching up all the great developers, then why the hell not. Now Sony do have money to spend. They really do. They just dont seem to want to. They've plowed millions into the PS3 hardware, and now with the PSP Go thingie. The result of that plowing means inflated price tags for the consumer. Check out the retail price for the PSP Go when its launched; Sony says the PSP Go will go on sale in October and cost €249 (£214) in Europe and $249 (£149) in North America. Thats just ridiculous priceing, especially for EU. Now EU have always been screwed when it comes to Sony gaming stuff being released, but seriously, if this is supposed to be a DSi killer then come on, lower the price!! You can get a DS for under £100 and the DSi comes in at £130. For the £214 Sony are asking for it, you can get a DSi with Pokemon Platinum, GTA Chintown Wars and Mario Kart and still save yourself around a tenner. As for games well, i believe you yourself once the shine had rubbed from MGS4 you were less then impressed. 10hours of cutscenes?? I dont think so. And before you say it, no I have no intrest in the MGS game for the 360 thats being developed Apart from a handfull of games I can count on my fingers, Sony have little exclusives. For example, FFXIII now on Xbox, Devil May Cry went multi-platform after being told it was PS3 only, the GTA series that was once Sony exclusive, now on Xbox. Sony are desperate for customers (outside Japan), so much so that they brought the distro rights for the new Ghostbusters game just so they could have it "first". They dont even have decent DLC!! Just look at all the Fallout expansions and the GTA expansions that are coming out on Xbox, as well as all the arcade stuff. The PS3 cannot compete with M$ for downloadable content. Ok fine, you have to pay for Xbox Live to play online, but seriously look at the community!! This[/url] speaks for itself. I agree with your point on FFXIII, that probably will be 5 discs. Lost Odyssey was 4, but once you swapped a disc you didnt have to switch back so it wasnt too much of a bother. I guess we have to talk about motion sensing.... The Wii started it, it was good. Sony tried to copy with Sixaxis, which was a fail. Now M$ have got in there and yknow, Natal looks amazing. I watched the Sony "dual-controller" thingie and was really underwhelmed after seeing Natal in action. But I will leave my vote out on that one until everythings released properly. Are there games I will miss? Yes, things like God of War III and (eventually) Kingdom Hearts III. But really thats it! MGS can go screw, Killzone well I have Halo and Gears to keep me occupied ta, Final Fantasy..... oh wait

Saw the Assassin's Creed 2 trailer. Looks way similar to the first one, but hey I loved the game so I'm looking forward to this sequel.

On the subject of multi-platform releases, eviltb: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxKeV_ZlfuQ@ BC: AC2 looks soooo much better, simply because they actually have good missions now. I'm excited for it.

well it was kinda inevitable that the new MGS would go multi, just makes sense nowadays for a developer to get as much revenue as possible.

I don't own any video game consoles with the exception of the Nintendo DS (and the old, discontinued version at that!) so the biggest news to me is probably Golden Sun DS. But what the heck is the deal with playing descendents of characters from the first 2 games? All those hours grinding should have had some benefit.. I've always toyed with the idea of getting a Wii or PS3 but I can see myself becoming a total addict and having all my free time sucked out the window. Of course, when/if a LW game comes out for a next-gen console, I'm gonna HAVE to buy it!

In general, my position on MMOs is that they can piss off. Pay full price at retail then take out a monthly subscription? Aye right. One or the other would be fair enough, but both?

But this might be the one (and only) one that I change my mind about. But I still kinda doubt it. -GB

The other thing I hate about this particular MMO is that they could have made KotOR III instead, but chose not to. Bah. And this game will suck. By definition, MMOs involve other people. People you can't choose. Which means KotOR the MMO will be overrun with sub-literate 12-year olds with names such as Darth Mongoloid who say things like "OMG d00d I got da 1337 1ight5abr3!!!!111!!11ONE". What's more, every single one of them will dual-wield red lightsabres. Look at the comments on the trailer on YouTube and tell me if I'm wrong.

true there is that element to MMOs, hence why I dont play WoW or Galaxies anymore (I did try but the l33tness was just too much). You can get some good, honorable players but mostly its n00bs runnig up to you telling you your gay for not helping them....

No news on Ksatria then?
I'm also disturbed by the fact that you've all blatantly overlooked Dragon Age and Diablo 3.
