True, 360 all the way. MGS4 blows. MGS4 is sweet. Anyways you're talking from a place deep inside your asshole since it only came out today and you certainly haven't played it. I proclaim here and now that the Xbox360 is a sweaty pit of despair and filth wherein one can dig for days if they desire to find the occasional shiny penny. And your momma tasted good last night. So there.

Haha.
I knew that would cause some controversey!
Now for the real explaination, the original MGS was good, but the sequels.....well, the less I say about them the better.
Besides, the 360 has more exclusives than the PS3 (really, it does).

I wondered how long it would take for this thread to derail into a playground-style "my machine's better than yours" slagging match.

Haven't tried for a while. I keep meaning to, but get distracted by something else. I've got a good method for doing that mission, if you're interested, send me a pm and I'll let you know it.

Besides, the 360 has more exclusives than the PS3 (really, it does). But are those exclusives any better? That's where it devolves in matters of opinion. As for the MGS series, it's true that MGS2 was a terrible game. Just plain and simple. But MGS3 was one of the best games I've ever played. And MGS4 is really incredible, it really is. Even if you don't count the AMAZING graphics and fascinating story, the open design of the levels and the sheer amount of activity going on in those levels is astounding programing. Really just astounding. I don't even know how to describe it. Just imagine running through a series of streets and totally accesible buildings while three armies duke it out around you. And you can take part in the fighting however you wish or ignore it all together. And the armies have extremely good AI, remembering things you've done if they see you later down to inconsequential details, getting distracted like real humans, backstabbing each other when they are distracted... it's very overwhelmingly realistic.

I bought The Incredible Hulk today. It's good, but not nearly as good as the fantastic Ultimate Destruction. So only buy the new game if you've already completed that and you're hungry for more.

Beat Metal Gear Solid 4 last night and despite my earlier defenses, was severely dissapointed. I give the game a 5/10, currently the lowest score given to it on gamefaqs. My full review and reasoning for this should be up on gamefaqs within the day.
I still maintain that Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of the greatest games of all time, however.

I beat LoZ: WW yesterday. Still need to complete a few sidequest though. I'm quite surprised by how many direct references to OoT was there in that game, since no other game of the series did this before. I was pleased by the final fight as it was a sword duel. However, the rest of the game, although it was good, will not put this title as my favorite in the series.
Next on the list: TP.

Alone in the Dark dropped onto the dootmat this morning. As a huge fan of the original, Im looking to getting stuck into this. Still got Ninja Gaiden 2 to beat, although at least Lego Indy is out of the way.

I just beat Metal Gear Solid 4 today and I hold it in slightly higher regards than Zipp did. Frankly, I loved it. I have my little nitpicks of course. I think the game should have ended when the credits started, I could have done without that little epilogue.
Still, most of my complaints are about how I would have liked to see things end.
Graphics: 10/10
Graphics were just superb. The game simply looked great. The environments were created nicely, with little touches here and there. Dirt, blood, water, and melting snow flakes, and the such will rest on the camera lens.
Game play: 10/10
The Game play is virtually glitch free, which has been a trend from Kojima in the past. Many other of my favorite games (Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, and GTA 4) required months of installing updates to fix glitches. Kojima delivers us a game so technologically sound that it sets the bar far ahead of the rest.
Switching to first person mode and back again has been made much easier since Snake Eater. The controls have been perfected and snake responds well. The new Octocamo is a great improvement over the old camo system. Lots of customizable weapons (60+ weapons).
Presentation: 9.5/10
Trying to be fair here. As much as I love the Metal Gear story I know that Kojima made a habit of placing melodramatics in too frequently. In some places the melodrama was an awesome touch and brought a tear to my eye. Other times it was annoying. Deep down this story is one of the greatest ever told, on par with the sagas of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. And I think the movie being produced by Sony will impress us all.
Now to why this game lost its 5%. Cut scenes. I personally would not have minded the cut scenes (as they were almost all awesome) if a little more game play had been added in. These scenes were (in Kojima's defense) very smooth when transitioning back to gameplay, giving you the feeling that the two were one.
I feel that this game would have been absolutely PERFECT, if the ratio of game play to cutscenes was 3/1. As it stands there is 10 hours worth of cut scenes in Metal Gear Solid 4. As usual I when playing MGS games I tend to conserve both ammo and rations so I take my time taking down most areas. I beat the game in exactly 18 hours and 18 seconds.
So I would have liked to see a ratio of 3/1. What I got (some people will finish it faster, others slower) was a 9/5 (almost 2/1).
Sound: 10/10
If I could give it a higher score than I would. Musical score was on par with movies such as Star Wars and reminded me a lot of the Gladiator soundtrack. We've heard some great musical scores in movies but Metal Gear Solid 4 offers us the best musical score I have ever heard in a video game (with Metal Gear Solid 3 in close second).
Fantastic. Also have to add that the addition of music from the previous games was a nice touch and a treat for us who have followed the series for years.
Lasting Appeal: 10/10
Easter eggs, hidden items and weapons, many medallions to earn, and the such ensure that this game has everlasting value. I must have played through Snake Eater at least a dozen times. My feelings have crossed over to Guns of the Patriots. Each time I completed an Act I found myself not only thinking about what was to come in the next Act, but what I could have done differently in the previous. There are virtually thousands of ways to complete this game, allotting for hundreds upon hundreds of hours of intense game play. The inclusion of Metal Gear Online and free downloadable content on the Playstation Store is also a great plus.
Final Thoughts: Honestly, this is a great game and is going down for me as a spectacular addition to the greatest video game series of all time. And I wouldn't tell you this unless I really meant it. A great buy.

The only thing I really really want to get hold of on a PS3. But I aint spending out that much money just to play 1 game! I miss my keyblade Well, Kingdom Hearts III isn't confirmed for the PS3 yet but I would be willing to bet cold hard cash on it. Still, there is the possibility that it could come to Xbox. I'm more looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII. I'm fairly unbaised when it comes to the 360/PS3 war as I have owned both. It's not that the 360 is a bad system, it's just that it is could to be outdated within a year. Microsoft makes consoles that last 4 years. Sony makes consoles that last 10 years. That's why I didn't mind spending $500 for my PS3, you're getting more bang for your buck.
