I have just started reading The Dragons of Lencia. Well, in fact, I only read the Prologue so far. But as I was to put my bookmark at the beginning of Chapter 1, there it strucked me. Remember our old TotS calendar? Sunday: Sowilo Monday: Manad Tuesday: Tiwas Wednesday: Moivik Thursday: Thurisas Friday: Fehu Saturday: Laugar January: Ingwas February: Mannas March: Ehwas April: Berkano May: Perthro June: Jera July: Hagalas August: Gebo September: Raidho October: Ansus November: Urus December: Othala Why are three months written in bold letters? That's because they are used in the novel! Okay, Perthro has been renamed Perthar, but that's still the same month. So yes, I think we can rejoice as TotS made an official canon contribution to the world of Magnamund!

The names of the months were actually provided by Joe, so I guess he's taken on board your contribution to the pantheon. The slight change is to reflect the Lencian version of the month, as opposed to the Sommlending version. If a chapter was set in Lencia I used the Lencian version. In Lencia Berkano is actually called Baerk. Jera is the same in both countries.

Cool! So there're different names for the months depending of the language used. Now that's interesting.
Speaking of the new elements we learn in the novels, there's a guy at the French forum Le Grimoire that is collecting them in a thread. I might just go and help him.
I'm eagerly waiting for the next novel of the series to come out.

All this time I never knew that TotS had actually made up the names of the months - I'd assumed that they came from a Newsletter or something.
Very cool!

Also, am I the only one that sees that these are nordic rune names? The year and days are either phonetically very similar or are the rune name straight out. Huh.

Yes, that is what Winterhawk said when he implemented them on the original website. I took a look at what they meant, and some of them make perfectly sense with the month they are representing.

Wow. What else managed to sneak in, I wonder? Richard named an inn The Rising Sun in Talestria. Not the best inn in Magnamund thought... ;D (and I doubt he named it because of our fan-made creation).

Hey, maybe one day we'll see the plains of Ilion properly populated with Beast Creatures ^_^
That's really cool, gives me one more reason to be glad to be part of the community and feel proud.

The chances that all of the Illion plains are turned into an Agarashi breeding ground in MS 5100 are decent...
