Sorry, but no, I'm not talking of the new Flight from the Dark from Ksatria Gameworks (rumours say they will upgrade their website in time for Game Convention Asia in September). Actually, I'm talking of the two games that were made for the Spectrum 48k, Flight from the Dark and Fire on the Water, in the mid-80s. Both games, which are a combination of text adventure and 'combat simulator', can be downloaded at Project Aon and used with a Spectrum 48k emulator. Also included are text files of the instructions for each game. The Lone Wolf Software Articles PDF files was also updated with new material from both games. A third video game, called The Mirror of Death, is currently not available for download, but the PA's staff is working hard so that it can be.

Ahh, I remember the good old days of read errors, azimuth screws and praying that the accursed game might actually load this time. To think that modern gamers complain when a game makes them wait more than ten seconds to shift gigabytes of data while we used to spend hours trying to run 16k games that someone had cobbled together in their bedroom. Kids today, bloody spoiled the lot of 'em!
