Al and I are currently playing characters from Palmyrion in an online LWd20 game. We have realised though, that neither of us has found anything in canon to say if natives of Palmyrion should be referred to as "Palmyrions", "Palmyrionites" or even "Palmyrians".
Can anyone cite a reference?

I just realized that coincidently we are both Dwarfs here and Palmyrions/Palmyrionites/Palmyrians on the other site.

Great minds think alike! Though to be honest I very nearly plumped for a Knight of the Realm.

Given the superior nature of the land compared to everyone around, how about 'sir' I think Palmyrians seems cool Edit: Yeah, birds of feather and hey doomy, l as long as your are a knight, you'll get the support of the mkc

I have added a poll just in case nobody can find an actual reference. If all else fails, we'll just go by whatever people think sounds best.

There are references to the use of the word "Palmyrions" 1) In the LW 10 Dungeons of Torgar, just after the blasting of the great gates of Torgar, Lone Wolf was leading a score of Palmyrion soldiers in pursuit of the enemy. www.projectaon.org/en/xhtml/lw/10tdot/sect293.htm2) In the Story So Far section of LW 24 Rune War, it was mentioned that Banedon had gone to Vanamor to help Palmyrion fight against the Vorka hordes and the Eldernorian army. Quoted: "Lone Wolf informed you that Guildmaster Banedon had travelled to Palmyrion by skyship to assist, its ruler, Elector Manatine, muster his country's defences. With his help, the Palmyrions were holding the enemy at bay, but with hundreds of Vorka reinforcements arriving unchecked, it was simply a matter of time before Vanamor would be overrun.

Palmyrans, Palmyrites, Palmyrish, Palmyrese..... It's such a long and unusual name for a country that you could justify shortening it to something like Palmyrs (as people from Serbia and Croatia, for example, can be described as Serbs and Croats respectively as well as Serbians or Croatians). My Palmyr guide was waiting in the town square, his horse heavily laden with provisions for the journey. Sounds okay, I reckon. So you could use something like Palmyrian and Palmyr alongside each other depending on what sounds best at the time. To be unhelpfully vague, I might suggest that it probably very much depends on who you are and where you come from as to how you choose to describe the people of another country, on which basis you could justify using whichever term you like best! Of your three above, I like Palmyrian best. That subtle change of vowel between country and people is kinda cool.

"Palmyr" sounds pretty good too though.

I guess if they are Palmyrions in the books, then our characters are Palmyrions in the game. Although my favourite was Palmyrians.

Yep, I think that 3) reference settles it!

We Cener Druids have a much simpler name for them..."food". They taste great with Palmyr Sauce. And we roast them on Palmyr Sticks. They're Palmyr-licous. Ah, yes. A wonderful day in the life of a Cener Druid. But it seems you've got the facts in good order on this topic. Just taking some time out of my day to do some Lone Wolf stuff. Regards, Koreth
