I've downloaded some time ago the Dragonlance movie. Has anyone of you seen it? Any comments? For me it was quite a good surprise! To say I was not expecting the best of quality of the graphics and special effects but it was just the story in itself who intrigued me and make me like it.

Well, if it's the same one I'm thinking of, it uses 80s' animation style, which is quite a shock to the system after outstanding stuff 20 years later. Then again, I grew up on Thundercats and the like, so I quite like the retro style, even if I'm not sure it was the right decision.

I can link you to the previous discussion on another forum here: www.dungeon-master.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27172Given it was based on the dragonlance novels, then the story shold be interesting, but the feeling was that it was not a good transition, what with the animation style choice and some of the voice acvting, etc. Not seen it yet to comment

I swap between that and archmastiff as a rank If you saw the original wuuf that drawing is based on, then you'll know there is a bit of artistic license there! But at least you can see the originals of my tots character Like I said, calling him 'mary sue' would have reduced his mary-sue ness

I bought it for 10.99 a local Best Buy.
Seems enjoyable enough to watch.

It was not released to cinemas, but straight to DVD.

Oh dear. That's a definite indication of quality then, if it never even appears in the cinemas.

It was not released to cinemas, but straight to DVD. I was confused about that myself, that was not the origional plan, was it?

Yes, straight-to-DVD was the planned path for that movie release.

Oh dear. That's a definite indication of quality then, if it never even appears in the cinemas. Not quality so much as audience exposure and public awareness. I knew that too. My point was that I never knew it was out because nobody ever noticed.

Oh well, never mind. If I feel like a dose of Thundercats-style nostalgia, I can always buy a copy of the Dragonlance DVD then.
