I'm running a Star Wars Game at rpol.net/game.cgi?gi=26310&gn=Star+Wars%3A+DarkStryder+%28D6%29&date=1208802620 (using the old WEG D6 system) over on RPoL, and in about a month, will be running a Dark Sun game using the FATE system (which is one of the simplest systems I've run across; speaking of which, have you ever taken a look at it, Zipp?). If any of ya'll are interested in more PBP games, you're welcome to give me a shout! FP, who likes to GM too much for his own good!

Dark Sun? Wow. I have some of the original books, but I've never played it or met anyone who has.
What's the FATE system?

Actually, the name sounds familiar, but it doesn't conjure up much for me. Is it one of those diceless systems?

Not diceless, but with a simple dice system that gives a range from -4 to +4 (if I remember correctly). I've actually only just been introduced to it, myself. The basic system gives each character a set of skills ranging from 1 to 4 and a set of aspects. Aspects, like claustrophobic, too dumb to die, dedicated, warrior born, ladies' man, perpetually cheerful, hunted, etc. give you some RP suggestions, and also determine what you can spend Fate Points on. Fate Points are limited to approximately per day (in our Dark Sun conversion, for example, since it's a desert world, you can only regain fate points if you're getting enough sleep, food, and water), and can be used to up rolls or affect the game in other ways (such as minor alterations to the story, if I remember) Also, the GM can compel certain aspects (like claustrophobia or ladies' man for example) and in return, you gain a FP, since the result is usually detrimental to you ICly. Anyway, like I said, I've only just been introduced to it myself, so perhaps I should give you a useful link: www.faterpg.com. That's the main webpage. The most up-to-date version of the rules is apparently still slightly world specific, but seems generic enough to easily adapt. It's here: www.faterpg.com/dl/sotc-srd.htmlHope you find it useful! If you decide it would make a good system for some Lone Wolf RPGing, I may be convinced to assist in adapting the system for that! FP, currently dying of hunger in the back of a slave wagon (on Athas, at least).

Seems somewhat like a simpler version of the James Bond system.

It reminds me very much of FUDGE (Free Universal Diceless Gaming Engine?). I presume it's an outgrowth from that?
