This is a post I had for Sara, awarding her the Boradon Cross...
Imperial Embassy of Bor, Holmguard
Grand General Bon-Al Stonefist, Ambassador of Bor to Sommerland, Durenor and the Lastlands sat at his desk, working away on a letter to his Allies, the Knights Guild of Magnamund. At his feet, his trust dog, Vengeance, lay chewing on a bone that the chef had saved specially for him.
Upon completing the letter, he quickly summoned one of his aides.
“Rifle Commander, could you please tell Ambassador Beowuuf that I would like to speak to him, and that I will be at our usual meeting place in one hour”
“Aye sir, I will go and find him”
Upon hearing the name Beowuuf, Vengeance immediately began wagging his tail, for some strange reason Vengeance had an awfully strong liking for the strange knight.
“And ye can come tae, Vengeance, we both know that this is yer favourite place in all of Holmguard” the Ambassador said to the dog, as he prepared to meet Beowuuf in their regular meeting place; Toothillman’s Bullseye Tavern.
A bit earlier than expected, Al arrived at the tavern to see all was well. Sawdust lay strewn across the floor, and eager Dwarfs were busy pulling pints and serving them to patrons who seemed intent on drinking into oblivion. For all of his studies of humans, that was a unique trait that he never did understand.
Al walked to the bar and without even asking, the bartender pulled him a pint of his favourite vintage of Bor Brew. “Here ye go sir” he said to Al.
“Any news of Toothillman?” Al asked the bartender, already knowing the answer. “No sir, it has been some time that he has been out o’ contact, I hope he is alright”
“Ye don’t know ol’ Toots like I dae, or ye would’nae worry so” replied Al, “he knows how tae handle himself!”
“Aye sir, I was only here a short time before he left”
Suddenly, the room got quiet, which Al knew could only mean one thing, that Beowuuf had arrived and that his presence had once again caused all eyes to turn on him and all conversation to stop. It never stopped Al from laughing, here were humans drinking in a Dwarf pub, confused at the appearance of another non-human. Small worlds, these humans live in, he thought to himself.
“Wuufy! Over here lad” Al called out to his ally and friend, while making his way to his permanently reserved table. “Can I get ye a bowl of ale?” he asked, chuckling to himself.
As they sat down Al got out a small package, sealed with his and the Embassy’s seal. “This be a package fer your council, once again one o’ you Knights has impressed the Grand Council o’ the Grand Army, and the King has directed me tae pass on tae the Knights Council through you oor token o’ respect. With that, Al slides the package across the table to Beowuuf.

My Lords,
It is with great pleasure that on the command of King Ryvin, High King of Dwarfs and Commander of the Order of the Boradon Cross, that I award at the rank of Member of the Order of the Boradon Cross to one of your newest Vakeros Knights.
Battle-Mage Sarra has proven both her loyalty to our cause and dedication to the fine crafts through her outstanding homage to the West Watch, one of the greatest historical records in all of Magnamund.
It is the opinion of the Grand Committee of the Grand Army thought that in doing so Battle-Mage Sarra has improved not only the enjoyment of the Tower of the Sun for all, but has also shown the rare Dwarf spirit of true craftsmanship, of which we Dwarfs are appreciative of and recognize, no matter the race or allegiance of the craftsman.
We ask that you pass on to Battle-Mage Sarra our thanks for creating such a fine work, and to officially welcome her into the Alliance of Dwarfs and Knights on behalf of all the Dwarfs.
Yours, aye
Al
