It is with a heavy heart that I have to report the sudden passing of Robert Ekblad, better known on this forum as Aguila Saber. Robert passed away on March 14, 2017. He was 51. Robert has been a longtime member of this community: he was one of the first member to join the original Tower of the Sun, using the name of Wise Eagle. The name Wise Eagle had roots that preceded TotS: it was under this name that he created Where Eagle's Fly, the Lone Wolf ERPG website that existed for many years. He will be missed. You can leave a tribute on his Facebook page if you wish: www.facebook.com/aguila.saber?fref=nf&pnref=story

I am shocked and in disbelief.
When I first met Robert online, I messed up his name and accidentally typed Badelk or something like that, and he explained that 'Ekblad' is native for "Oak Leaf". Over the years, I had the tremendous honor of writing on the original LW ERPG with Robert and posting stories on his Where Eagles Fly website. Robert always diligently reviewed almost everyone's stories, and managed the progression of skills and pushed the group to get stories out on time to keep everything in the same relative time period.
In the LW ERPG and on the forum boards in general, you could always count on Robert to provide some sage wisdom or hard statistical view of Lone Wolf. He could always pull from some arcane knowledge or point of view of Lone Wolf that no one else could.
When Mongoose opened the doors for writers of short bonus adventures in 2013, we immediately contacted them with our pedigree's. Although we held out hope that they would contact us, they never did. We corresponded together wondering when each of us would hear of our opportunity. It didn't happen, but it was great to have that hope.
I had always hoped to collaborate with Robert again. I've never seen a picture of him, and until now did not know that he was 51 years old. I don't know what he passed away from, I do wish him the best, and will be in our family prayers.
Farewell, Robert.

Truly sad. We´re becoming older, but you've gone too soon.

You're never really gone while your name is still remembered; and I recall him fondly, as I recall the kindness and generosity and community of spirit of each and everyone who made me feel welcome, and inspired me, and made me laugh, at TotS.

I'm saddened by the news, even more so from my delay in acknowledging it. I never interacted with him directly but I remember him being quite active on the forum and the quality and passion clearly evident in all his works.
