I'm away from the web for a few days and when I come back, things have moved so quickly it's hard to believe that only four days have passed! Cubicle 7 has finally started the Kickstarter project for the new LWRPG. They started it on August 7th and as of today, they have reached £26,000 already (the original goal was £15,000). If all goes well, the new RPG will be out in May 2015. There's a lot of details about the Kickstarter project, so head over their page to get all the details that I might forget: link

The kickstarter sounds an odd concept until you realise they are trying to release the full core books right away (expanded and adapted) in order to be able to go for adventures, etc later on. So I'm hopeful and crossing fingers for it...

Bah! Joe Dever pronounces both Sommerlund and his own surname wrong! ;D
This does look very exciting and very tempting to support. Can anyone understand how the 'Early Bird' version of the Kai Savant offer differs to make it £10 cheaper?
They say to look to their Dr Who and LotR games to see the quality of what Cubicle 7 do - anyone have any knowledge of these?

I think it was simply a limited time offer for the first 100 people to support at that level as an incentive. Given they're all gone it seems to have worked!

Ah, I see - cunning!
It's a shame it's such a big price jump before you get the maps. I looooove maps, but that's a lot of money. It'd be great to use this game with my RP group, but the original rules set, so far as I've inferred them from PbPost games, is probably too simple for pen and paper RPing, and there's nothing suggesting how they intend to evolve more complex rules - have any hints about that turned up elsewhere?

Thank you! Very helpful!
Seems a slightly odd way of doing things, overall having three levels of rules sets, and it seems a bit vague on where the advanced set - surely the rules that any hardened Lone Wolf-ers will want to use straight away - will turn up. But it looks very promising as an overall project. I've done a couple of Lone Wolf adventures with my pen & paper RP group using the d20 rules (which were - yikes - published nearly ten years ago?), which went okay, except that it tends to run as a less satisfying form of D&D 3rd Ed.. The idea of a different system, a more advanced version of the gamebook rules, is rather good. It still might not be as flexible as D&D 3/3.5, but if it's totally different, there won't be that nagging comparison.

Yeah, it's looking good. Finally backed it today. Went for Warman level because I already own three of the map sets. We'd ordered the 4th before it was rolled into the Kickstarter so hoping to get a refund and then grab it as an extra.

Ok, less than 48h left for the Kickstarter project and they have reached £50,000! Cubicle 7 revealed a lot of new add-ons, including real Kai Cloaks, dices, music, Gold Crowns, GM's screen and tokens! Go check all this and make your pledge or get some add-ons:

Only 20 hours left and only ±350 £ are required to reach the goal of 55,000£, the hardcover of Terror of the Darklords! Also, it is now possible to add 30 g¢ to your order as an add-on instead of 10 or 50. Finally, Dominic McDowall would like to remember that you have to add your shipping to your pledge. It might make a difference in the end since we are so close of the nest goal.
Best of all: if they reach 600 backers, they will make the Magnamund Bestiary in full-colour! There only 52 backers missing for this goal.
EDIT; WHA! Just as I wrote this post, they reached the 55,000£ mark! Now, the next objective should be the 600 backers in 20 hours.

A new add-on revealed: The Kickstarter-Exclusive Hardcover Backers' Companion. This 96-page hardcover book will contain all the adventures and information on Rookhaven that is in the Kickstarter-exclusive PDF Pack, including all the cool plot hooks, locations and NPCs the team comes up with – now with an introduction penned by Joe Dever himself. It is available as an add-on for 20£
Incredibly, I've been monitoring this thing while I work and since it has been announced, I still see the money counter going up! We almost have reached 56,000£! Only 18 hours left!

£60,000 has been reached, so that's "Heroes of Magnamund" in colours! Less than 4 hours left and only 7 backers are needed to reach 600 and only £23 are needed to reach £61,500. If one of these two objectives is reached, we'll get the "Magnamund Bestiary" in colours!
Hey, don't forget to add your shipping to your pledge. It might make the difference in the next few hours!

The campaign is now over and it was a huge success. Here's what came out of it:
-In 41 days, £68,005 were collected, which is 453% of the initial objective of £15,000 -635 persons backed the project with an average pledge of £107 -With all the additionnal goals reached, we get the following supplements in hardcover: Sommerlund, Terror of the Darklords, Heroes of Magnamund and The Magnamund Bestiary. -Except for Terror of the Darklords, these supplements will be in colours (but since we were so close of reaching £70,000, I guess C7 won't let Terror be left out and make it in colours in the end) -128 pages of new adventures set in Rookhaven will be produced, written by August Hahn himself.
Add-ons
Several unique LW add-ons were announced by C7 over the course of this campaign. They will probably be added to the C7 store and they could also be part of the Backerkit which will be revealed later.
-All supplements are available in PDF format -A new soundtrack created exclusively for the LW Adventure Game by Lukasz Stasinski -A GM screen -Real Gold Crowns! With a Belt Pouch! -D10 dices, with the LW logo on one side instead of 10 (or 0) -Tokens to use on the Random Number Table -Real Kai Cloaks! -All the Rookhaven adventures put together in one new hardcover supplement, the Backer's Companion.
If all goes well, we should see this new LW RPG out in May 2015.
