With the debate about the word censor function, its been remembered about perhaps setting up some forum guidelines again. Anyone opposed to this? If so, what was good fro the previous set, or are generally good guidelines? My suggestions: - be respectful of others on this board. Until you know the members better, try to ensure that strong views or colourful subjects and language aren't going to cause offense. - Always remember that text is the worst medium for conducting subtle conversation or spirited debate. Don't take offense at an attitude or opinion until you are sure it actually existed! Even then it is best to poiltely resolve anything through pm, relaying concerns to a moderator or admin, or to simply disengage from the conversation. - be especially respectful to the moderators and admins. They know the boards well and are trying to be helpful to both yourself and the others of the board. If you think something has been done incorrectly, a polite private PM is always a good idea to discover the reasons. - try to ensure subjects you bring up or questions you have to ask haven't been discussed before. Don't start a new thread if a previous thread exists and is still useable for the topic of your post. - after you've looked around and got to know the place, don't be afraid to ask questions! Anyway, that's my attempt while waiting for the washign machine to stop spinning...

When I thought about creating a ProBoard forums for the TotS community, that was one of the first things that I thought of. And what Beo just posted seems fine to me.

Handy rule of thumb - if even I, the King of Tactlessness, would find it offensive, then it's definitely not for posting publically
