Maybe I'm thick. OK, I probably am thick. But what was the answer to Seren's number puzzle, and if it was "6", what relationship does that have to the other numbers? *goes to check as has completely forgotten*The 1st, 3rd & 5th numbers in a horizontal line add up to the same as the 2nd & 4th. How I ever stumbled across the answer, I have no idea - it had me totally stumped for ages. I've not checked yet, but I'm wondering if it's related to the puzzle on the crystal dais at the end of Legacy of Vashna - I never actually figured that one out, but just randomly guessed correctly. At least it did make sense with hindsight, unlike a certain puzzle a little earlier in that book!

At least it did make sense with hindsight, unlike a certain puzzle a little earlier in that book! Yes, and the symbols at the top and the bottom of the puzzle was meant to direct you in regard to which columns you should add together. = over and under column 1, 3 and 5, and x over and under column 2 and 4. Made it a bit more difficuly for Seren since one of the x's had mistakenly been typed as a z. This puzzle is a more simple version of Simey's star puzzle which he used for one of the obstacles in his race during JDKT. The star puzzle required you to count diagonally, starting at a particular place whereas in this puzzle it doesn't matter where you start counting in a column.

Made it a bit more difficuly for Seren since one of the x's had mistakenly been typed as a z. Yes, I eventually got it despite the assistance of the symbols, not because of them! ;D Ooh - I hadn't noticed that. This puzzle was much better though - the whole moving round clockwise whilst alternately adding and subtracting thing that I did was far too convoluted and just plain confusing. Your puzzle has a very satisfying sense of 'Oh, of course! when you get it - I expect mine had more of a 'How the pants was I ever supposed to work that out!? type effect!

So, where did you go, AS? You haven't posted in ages I toured europe. Wien, Budapest, Praha, Berlin. Reminds me that Simey/Seren probably has yet to post his next move in the challenge. (Unless he has posted without me noticing it.)

Praha? Is that the "native" name for Prague? I take it you went via Germany and Austria to Eastern Europe then.

Though Hungary likes to see itself as part of central europe, and Budapest is not much further east than Prague. Slovakia has in fact once been northern Hungary. Incidentally, due to me being robbed of my internet most of today, the game thread update will be tomorrow afternoon.

It gives eviltb more time to come up with more ways of not killing me - he might even figure out a way to save me! Cause...you know...he's good....

I toured europe. Wien, Budapest, Praha, Berlin. Awesome! Wien/Vienna and Praha/Prague I've been to, and they are amazing places (especially Prague - must go again, since it was still in Czechoslovakia when I was there), but I really want to go to both Budapest and Berlin. What were your impressions? Which city did you like best?

I've never been further east than Holland and Belgium and that was 20 years ago. I really need to go travelling in Europe

The rules don't actually say if it's possible to "run" rather than "walk", but if it is that's what I'm doing! It might be that we all move like Chuck Norris though, as specific rules for running might be too easily abused and could potentially throw AS's timetable out of whack.

Closing in will take you about 6 activity which will place you in the broken door-way in the room where the zombies are. I'll put your last point in search since you will have need to make a search check for seeing all the standing combatants, and they will need a search check to see you, and you will need 2 points to make an attack. I assume you want to spend the last point on search checks so you can make out who is fighting, right? There is no run action in this game, I'm afraid.

Okay, not too sure what my options are if I choose to fire my Bor Pistol this round. Do I have a line of fire where I can hit multiple enemies without harming either of the players in this location?

Okay, not too sure what my options are if I choose to fire my Bor Pistol this round. Do I have a line of fire where I can hit multiple enemies without harming either of the players in this location? The undead are scattered about and tottering on death already. I believe you should trust to your axe. One hit and the undead will go down. I forgot to mention the vines the druid has summoned. They more or less block the squares D3 and C3 which is right ahead of you. One of the undead is to the south of these barriers and the three other that you see are north of it. The undead to the north is blocking that path, so you need to axe them / shoot them down to get past. Since you need 2 activity to aim and shoot it is difficult to say how well a shot will do. The zombie to the south will actually die by itself due to the acid at the end of the round, so there is no big reason to go after it. Looking at the health of the standing combattants I believe it likely that you and eviltb will be able to down everything in the next round, unless you are very unlucky. Another question with no easy answer is if you consider the fighter or eviltb to be on your side.
