I've started following a few of these in the last couple of months. Basically, someone plays through Fighting Fantasy books and then gives commentary or a report of some sort. The first one I found (from a tip-off on TotS, I think) was Fighting Dantasy - if not the earliest of its kind, then certainly one of the earliest. Good lightweight stuff; Dan plays through the books once each (with occasional retries) and gives amusing accounts. Fighting for your Fantasy is the one I read most, mainly because it's a bit more thorough than Fighting Dantasy and it's updated reasonably regularly. My favourite, though, is Turn to 400. It's only updated about half a dozen times a year, but the entries are both long and entertaining. My pick of the entries to date has to be Forest of Doom. I actually laughed aloud, and it's rare for that to happen when I'm reading. Those are the humorous ones, but there are more serious ventures too. Gamebook Geek is a solid one, and very detailed. Anyway, does anyone else read these things? What do you think of them? I find they make me want to dig out my FF collection...

I was reading Dan and even posted a link to his site here on TOTS. It's Really funny stuf I will check out those you mentioned- and yeah, they make me wanna play FF (which reminds me, I still have Night of the Necromancer and Howl of the Werewolf to start) And, MUST pick Blood of the Zombies-after all I helped naming that book!

Did you indeed? Interesting!
Your link to Fighting Dantasy might be how I found it in the first place. I have a feeling it was a post on TotS somewhere. These blogs often link to each other, so I ended up just following links from one to another.

Yeah, well... me and a hundred more people : Ian Livingstone posted a message on the official FF site, explaining that the new book's title would be up to the fans to decide. There were 2 options, and the least horrible was Blood of the Zombies. ;D

Still following these blogs! It's unfortunate that they don't update more often, but of course the writers all have full time jobs and families and whatnot. There's a surprising number of gamebook-related blogs out there actually. Not all are good but it's still heartening to see some love for this form that helped to shape the person you see before you.
