i'd like to get some feedback from the community here for this twisted idea, alot of which is based in part on Lone Wolf... only seen through a mirror...
in this universe, the God of Light, was once good, but destroyed the god of disease, absorbing all that he was, and slowly becoming tainted and insane himself....
Killing off some of the other Dark gods, his own corruption began to affect his followers and worshipers, even causing the moon goddess to change...
and When the body of the god of Darkness was cast unto the world, leaving a massive area forever concealed from the light, the god of darkness' power fell to a mortal, rather than be absorbed by the mad god of light.... a mortal with a nurturing heart, but balanced by the need to destroy what threatens what she sees as her children....
where once the darkness brought fear and evil, now it's the only solace left to the troubled ppl of the world.
yet many of the folks, who've counted on the light for so long, refuse to believe this, instead believing that the dark god has managed to taint the works of the god of light.
(for those who have read stephen r. donaldson's 2nd chronicles of thomas covenant should recognize this)
recently, every rising of the sun brings a different sort of suffering onto the land, as one day may bring rampant growth and plague, while another may bring desert and desolation, and yet another may bring terrible rains....
> versions of the Kai lords and others will be present in this land, and the younger members may still believe in the good of the Light, they slowly become tainted, as they are coerced into doing ever more vile acts, cloaked in an air of necessity and "for the good of all".
> the souls of the Dead now are limited to three choices... either join with the god of light, and subject to mad whims for eternity, become fuel for the Sunblight which plagues the land, wander the land unable to affect the world, or speak to the living, or they can willingly allow a necromancer to bind them to their bodies once more, becoming mostly free willed undead.
> Necromancy has become less innately evil, when created free-willed undead who seek to protect the ppl, but even so, the powers of light hate all undead, wiether good or not...
>> any ideas, comments, etc from the folks here?
