You guys do know the film is supposed to be set with Iraqi veterans, right? It takes place in modern times with people arrested for war crimes during a rush on the Taliban. No joke.

You guys do know the film is supposed to be set with Iraqi veterans, right? It takes place in modern times with people arrested for war crimes during a rush on the Taliban. No joke. I pity the fools. Don't want to sound negative, but making a serious A-Team movie is one BAD idea. I liked the A-Team a lot as a kid. Along with Knight Rider, Macgyver and a couple others, this is one of those 80's serials that really made an impact here. People in their 30's do have a soft spot for those shows, since it was the only thing we could see (Portugal had only 2 TV channels until 1993- and one of them only broadcasted for like 5 hours per day). I even had an Hannibal action figure (which I now remember was mostly used as a slightly taller sidekick to my Han Solo ). But, whenever me and the other kids were playing A-Team (with toy guns and stuff), I always wanted to be BA. I guesse those necklaces were just cool. Anyway, this one was a really stupid show. I remember that almost every episode ended with the A-Team setting up some explosions, then the bad guys would be blown into the air unharmed, like they were steppin on trampolins. Fireworks scare the hell out of seasoned criminals, i guess.

The real way to do an A-Team film would be to go completely the other way: have them mow down dozens of enemies with automatic weapons, and have three of the four characters dead by the end, with only Hannibal left, and even him only just managing to shoot the last bad guy before he collapses from his injuries. See the rest of my post, when I mention The Wild Bunch in the present day. How much would you lke to bet Hannibal II won't even a) chomp cigars or b) dress up as the monster from the Chewits ads? Similarly, I very much doubt that the new BA will avoid detection by the authorities by running a day centre for underprivileged children.
