Okj, here's some pressing questions answered for everyone:
1) It's not Indigo Prophecy. The game does not lose it's oomph anywhere along the way and, if anything, leaves you wanting a sequel (but emotionally satisfied with this story).
2) Not everyone will like this game. If you're looking for objectives and constant action, don't look here. If you're interested in story and tasks ranging from the anger behind killing a man or the delicateness of rocking a baby to sleep, then this is more your emotional outlet. For those who are into this kind of interactive experience, Heavy Rain is the BEST role playing experience out there.
3) It's going to be difficult to play a game after this that asks for emotional involvement from the player. Heavy Rain's emotions are so human and realistic and not forced that going from this to anime-influenced FFXIII I'm worried will be a bit like going from beer to whiskey, and not in a good way.
4) Animation is incredible. Over 30,000 unique animations in the game lend it the feeling that every scene is different and that the characters are reacting in real time to what's happening on-screen.
5) The choices are not just gaming choices. You feel drawn in to every scene that you have to decide something.
You will probably see these points talked about more in an upcoming review of the game.

Ive heard good things about this, the only criticism so far is that there isnt any replayability. Thoughts?

Regarding replay: every decision you make can be different, there are a lot of alternate ways to approach a conversation and you can make some really nasty changes to a key scene. You can also die with a character, changing the way the game unfolds and plays out after all. I won't spoil it but I will say that I drastically altered one scene just by pushing a woman too hard to talk about something, she broke down. There are other key moments that you can alter, so I'd say that the game has replay value in that respect, if you can recover your nerves to actually play again

There is a huge amount of potential replay-ability because of the variances in the scenes (literally 100s of little things throughout the game) and the affect on the ending. There are two MAIN endings, but 22 different versions of these endings with significant changes. Me and my friend both got the "good" ending, but there were whole pieces of the after story that I got that he didn't, and parts in the game that he saw that I didn't. Furthermore, there are a lot of subtle explanations for loose ends that you'll only get by playing different scenes differently.
HOWEVER!
It is difficult to go back and play Heavy Rain. Part of this is because it is such an emotional game. It's not easy to view the decisions as "oh, this gives me the GOOD ending" and "this is the EVIL path." This isn't Fable or Fallout 3. There isn't a good and evil to pick from. There are decisions and you'll be so invested in the emotions behind those decisions that it's difficult to make different choices on replays.
Also, a lot of the game is watching scenes and character interactions. On the first playthrough, there's never a moment where you're looking at your watch wondering when a character is going to stop talking, but on a second playthrough you've heard all this before... same trouble with watching the same movie twice in a row. You'll have to wait a while before replaying Heavy Rain.

Similarly I have postponed my second playthrough of Mass Effect 2 for time being, as it's still a little too fresh in my mind at the moment.
It's still an awesome game and I'll max out the achievements in due course, but I've decided not to be too greedy. There are still 2-3 years till ME3, after all, and I'd like there to be some things I haven't done yet so I can base subsequent playthroughs around the inevitable big DLC modules.
EDIT: Oops, this is the Heavy Rain thread, not the Gaming thread. Sorry for off-topic ramblings.

wow, a full 10/10! I never thought Id see you assign such a score to a game, this must have truly had an affect on you! Other games I've given a 10 include Longest Journey, Little Big Planet, FFVII, Everday Shooter, Odin Sphere, Soul Blazer, God of War, and Zack and Wiki. Other games that would get a 10 if reviewed might include Ico, Metal Gear Solid 3, Final Fantasy IV, Dungeon Keeper, Blade Runner, Half Life, and quite possibly the original Alien Versus Predator for PC.

A lot of reviewers seem to be marking the game down due to the voice acting, which I suppose some people who never played Farenheit, could find jarring. Still, it's gotten some good scores over @ metacritic and that's excellent, since the game is a crackin' one.

It's also silly, since if the voice acting really bothers people they can play it in French. Obviously this generation of reviewers never played Resident Evil 1.

I thought bad reviews came from the dissatisfaction with certain story elements and the narrative?
