Anyone saw the trailer for the Last Airbender?
It reminded me of a Shaolin-like boy monk who has excellent martial arts and the uncanny ability to manipulate elements, in an alternate fantasy world.
Not sure if we can see a Lone Wolf movie made with that level of expectations?

The difference is that Avatar: The Airbender was made for the film medium. Lone Wolf was made for the solo-adventure medium, which doesn't translate easily (or well) into film.

True, though the Legends version of the story manages to have him be alone enough to be Lone Wolf, but also to have him interact with plenty of additional characters, so that it's not one long internal monologue. And the Bourne films - the second in particular - demonstrate that one man running around in peril saying almost nothing to anyone can be gripping stuff!

Yeah, I still don't see this whole 'it's a gamebook so we have to do something to it to make it work' angle. Infact as I was sitting waiting for one of my films to start, I was still imagining how cool LW could be as a film.
As to Lone Wolf being alone - expecially truncated as many of the books would need to be, you have the majority of the interesting parts that would get the mnost time have Lone Wolf playing off of someone... banedon, the king, captain kelman, couch passengers, rygar, alin, (admiral i forget), vonotar, three guides, loi-kymar, vonotar again, 50 border rangers, d'val, vassgonian shipmates, banedon, cyrius, gwynian, trost, (paido's brother), paido, banedon again, prarg...
And as Simey points out, you don't need to have . And actually one plus of the gamebooks is that the character developments isn't (can't) be a separate thing. It's boiled right into the plot as his advancements and encounters.

Trust me. You don't want Lone Wolf to ever enter the film world. It would not come out anything like what you would want.
