Wow, either Beowuuf is dead or he'll have his brain transplanted into a 50-foot tall combat robot. All hail Mecha-Beowuuf!
My own meagre contributions continue to limp into the thread with all the pace of a dead snail.

It all adds up, plus you are establishing your character and finding a place. Hopefully a large attack can make for a series of small, fast paced posts when it happens!

In this case, Cloe will most likely make her way to the army as well, though maybe I can put a spin on that...

Obviously the plan would still stand, and just as obviously perhaps the chaos creatures forsee exactly what you thought would happen will. If Cloe is obviously spotted by the army, I would assume she might get mistaken far away as Beowuuf, and I assuem that is a way for Sahmas to hear about ti and attempt to 'break ranks' and meet with her. Although, of course, I'm now interested to see what spin you'll put on the post... I hope I haven't started something

I really like that, actually. I was trying to come up with a way for her to be recognized by the army. Of course they would think she was Beowuuf.
I'll spin the Chaos battle, though. I've got some ideas for the fight.
Evil TB? Any word on our next posts?

So that other people can get going with their stories, Cloe's next appearance will be to arrive at the army. She's not really sure what she's supposed to be doing there, but it seems highly probably at this point that she's been brought back by the Chaos Master.
Certainly her arrival at the army will send it into Chaos, I'd imagine. The interaction between her, Simey, and Armadalus will be... well... I mean... Armadalus has been searching for her for how long now?
Simey, it's about time for me and you to start that interaction. Who wants to go first?
If I go first, I'll probably have Cloe arrive and be taken into the army's midsts, most likely by Beowuuf's new character.
Not sure what's going to happen next with Sera and Evil TB. Any plans, Evil? I still think, in the interests of writing with everyone, we may want to show up in the aftermath of the army's destruction to mingle with the survivors.
Otherwise, we should get started on our sub plot involving... which city was it? Temel?

Cool, then I guess I can post again in expectation of that. Sahmas would have no reason to be the one to initially meet her, but he would - if word if given of her being spotted - to try and sneak into meeting her expecting her to be Beowuuf.
I kinda know a little more about him as a day-to-day character now, at least to wing this initial meeting if there is a buffer in the way in terms of a superior officer speaking to Cloe.
Anyway, will try to get a post up tomorrow if the muse strikes

Cool, seems we've got Cloe arriving with some red shirts into the jaws of some stuffy officiers. The chaos is already happening, I'm sure Cloe can make it reach breaking point. Simey and Sahmas are already placed at ground zero to be the voices of reason.
It would be cool if we could pull the dwarfs in aswell - Al and Doomy, being high ranking, could easily be drawn in too.
Was there any decision on Sera and eviltb? Are they comtinuing onwards as a separate story, or will they get pushed into the meat grinder that will be the army around Eshnar?
Any clues as to how this will all go off?

I don't know.... haven't heard from Evil TB. For now I'll just focus on Cloe... now meaning once I get a free moment this weekend.
Thankfully, Sera's at a good point where it should be understandable how her character is growing (regressing). If worse comes to worse, Evil TB can just leave her in the Wildlands, and she'll end up getting picked up by the army (or its remnants) a little later on.

The ideas above about weird stuff going down in Temel were sounding rather cool, so it'd be nice to see something of that happen. I don't see any harm in there being two main story focal points for the time being. Just when the knights think they've figured out who and where the enemy is, whatever's been going on in Temel can creep up and bite them on the arse. I like this being pulled together that's happening for at least three characters right now - gonna be interesting. If the dwarves are to get involved, I can quite imagine it being in an exasperated role trying to kick some sense into the humans who are all bickering about Cloe and whose jurisdiction she's under, and so on. Whatever happens, we should probably not delay too long until we investigate the shattered remnants of Eshnar. Instead of separating the 'Cloe situation' from the 'Eshnar situation', it would be nice if we could play both out together somehow. Having a bunch of people/creatures who don't trust each other ordered to investigate the ruins sounds fun! Hmm, Simey's a bit like a very rubbish Ripley: he doesn't want to go back, but he's the only one who remembers being there before, so his superiors force him to. Can I give him a motion tracker and a grenade launcher? Hey, actually, an Aliens riff might be a nice way to play going back into Eshnar. There's military hardware waiting on the outskirts; a small team has to go in and suss out the situation; nearly everyone's dead; only a handful of kids are left; who knows what is lurking in the darkest corners of the ruins?; you can't fire your pulse rifles for fear of destabilising the nuclear reactor....er, well, some of it works anyway.

If anyone has any ideas, please share them! It's time to get things moving, though, I think... so we need some plan. Well, have just been reading back over the last couple of pages of this thread, because I was still back in Chapter 17 when the ideas were being thrown around, so wasn't fully taking it in. The two main ideas seem to be: A) Cloe's arrival causes a considerable stir; B) the army gets attacked by Chaos creatures. I would like to see some sort of investigation of Eshnar, simply because I think with all the bad stuff that's gone down there recently it should be a really interesting, scary, freaky place. Influenced by what I thinking about above, I was wondering, therefore, if a nice way to play it might be for a small group to be put together to head into the ruins and check things out whilst the main force sets waits at a safe distance, all the big guns and whatnot ready to pummel anything that the scouting party disturbs. All the factions would be represented in the scouting party, which gives most of us an easy excuse to have a character included. I think Cloe should go as well, obviously, but working out why she would be allowed to is a difficulty, though not an insurmountable one with the imaginations we have working round here! Anyway, the scouting heads in, and there's lots of tension and mistrust bubbling away between them, a lot of that surrounding Cloe, thereby satisfying idea A. In the midst of the ruin of Eshnar stuff of some sort happens to them: perhaps they find some kids; almost certainly the residual dark powers exert influence over them; maybe a small number of Chaos creatures are lurking. Oooh....it could be that relations between members of the group are just starting to get right out of hand when things bizarrely begin to settle down. Things become calmer and they are strangely able to work together. Good, yes? Well, no, because the reason for their uniformity of thought is that they've wandered into an area surrounded by Chaos creatures who are about to descend upon them and force them to fight for their lives! Meanwhile, the army left on the outskirts is surprise attacked, thereby satisfying idea B. Personally, I'd be okay with our characters escaping Eshnar to find the army wiped out/in bad shape/whatever. Dunno if everyone's gonna be happy to miss that fight though. Although just because some/all of our characters aren't there doesn't mean it can't be described by someone, perhaps several people. Anyway, written too much already. Just some thoughts that struck me as a possible ways forward.

Well, with Hazelae gone, technically the town should now be fine. Just... empty, except for the kids.
But I'm happy to have people do with Eshnar what they will.

Unless the army being attacked by Chaos creatures forced the rag-tag remnants on the outskirts dealing with Cloe to be pushed into Eshnar.
Ferl children to the left of themn, chaos creatures to the right of them, and everyone ready to distrust everyone else naturally or thanks to the chaos critter effect.... might that be a way to do this?
