Hmm, I don't think we want to be too 'wham, bam' here, do we? You and Sera need time to flesh our your stuff, we need time to have everyone sort of get their rythmn together in the army side, we need to build up some interesting CM stuff, and most importantly we probably want to see if we can hook a few more writers.
An idea could be eviltb and Sera hit V'ka first, and get to see the CM (sneakily or are pulled before). They manage to escape, right into the jaws of the knight's army. The chaos army then descend and do their thing.
Eviltb and whoever go towards Kaag, while the few who survive from the knight's side go back to Holmgard (or perhaps they just have to run to eslewhere across the border)
You'd have some momentum getting built to a first contest, you'd have the story of the CM spreading out so both 'sides' while still ahving our characters on both sides having established a link, and of course depending on how the plot is going, I guess at that time both sides through our charcters would then have tentative meetings.

Forgot to say, obviously the idea of Border Ranger scouts that might report back, or the strange chaos creature being close to the central army, are both devices to tie up our narratives while everyone is sort of doing their 'I'm here, this is what my charcter is thinking' sort of posts.
Not sure if anyone has planned on actually doing any events or link ups already, seems to me that once the army reaches the deserted Eshnar, with no real signs of the old army camps outside either, that would be an interesting place for us all to encounter one another. Certain Beowuuf, Armadalus and Simey would seek each other out after the discovery, and it would be cool to draw in Al and Doomy at the time.
Al, I forget if I ever asked you/PM'd you at the time, but I had Beowuuf meet Prince Torfan near the Maakengorge bridge, (which is how Beowuuf got temporary embassadordom) so that would make at least one reason why l might know of him. Not sure if you and Simey have crossed paths.
Certainly Al you can also meet up with NH as an NPC then, since your character actually fought alongside his!

Have no specific ideas as yet, but am in favour of a generally quiet start with building hints of weird and bad stuff having happened.
S, A and Beowuuf were at the camps (now destroyed) before, so I agree that they might automatically re-associate at that point, to at the very least go, 'Yikes. Stuff really was going down as we left.' And their superiors might well grill them again, since it was Eshnar and its surroundings that the three of them exclusively seemed to know about at the MKC meeting.
If the scouting party is going to enter Eshnar (is it?), we ought at some point to give some thought to what evidence is left there.
Don't think Al and Simey have met. Of people's characters, reckon Simey has met only Beowuuf, Zipp (the 2nd) and (very vaguely) NH.

And Armadalus, of course! Though I guess that really is your character now (and you've done lovely things with him).
Evil TB, we should talk about what direction we want to take and what Evil's plans are for Sera.

And Armadalus, of course! Of course! I was thinking of people's primary site-character characters. Though that has less relevance now, I suppose. Armadalus is still your invention. Any time you want him back, just say. Though I will cry.

Who is Price Torfan?

The King Ryvin's son. He was briefly referenced in some of the first chapters, I think he was present when the TORPEDO technology was first created. As you were gone, I wanted some dwarfish authority to offer the WW Beowuuf an ambassadorship to mirror the forum history. In this case, the ambassadorship was a temporary political move, a foot in the door to the workings of the MKC. The new storyline has sort of destroyed what little I was going to do with that, so really it's just a nod to the forum now and won't make narrative sense looking back Edit: Umm, or I guess I am stupid, obviously it means Beowuuf has an obligation to be the one to go across to the dwarfs and keep them informed of things, though I assume Nighthunter would do that too due to the NH/Al history.

Oops, and Prince Torfan is actually canon from one of the NO books...damn, wish we still had either the wiki or Manual of the Kai as a resource. "King Ryvin sought the help of the Elder Magi, who in turn sought the aid of the Kai. A new order Kai managed to vanquish the Shom'zaa and together with the dwarves protect the Throne of Andarin from being destroyed by the Shom'zaas hordes. During the struggles Prince Leomin died, leaving Prince Torfan as the next heir. " Edit: And lol, way back when, writing chapter 6, you knew this as you invoked the guy's name too

This is why I don't create long complicated character histori- oh wait, nevermind.
@ Simey: to take Armadalus away from you would be a disservice to the character. Keep at it! I honestly never though someone would grab one of my incidentals and do so much with him!

Hey, Evil TB. Sent you a PM suggesting what we could do next.
We do need to make sure that, at some point shortly here after we've established our character relations, we are dealing with the larger matter at hand, namely: the Chaos Master.
To that end, it would be helpful for me to know what the ending of this chapter is going to look like, roughly. What's the big event we think we want to steer towards? Me and Evil can touch on it, then, from V'Ka.
I'm thinking something along the lines of either us being discovered by the scouting party on the way to V'Ka or us arriving in V'ka to find it has become a home of Chaos already.

I've suggested a general direction, but I haven't really found my legs with the current narrative yet so I have no idea for where this chapter is actually going to go.
What's the cut off for chapters. It used to be 150 posts (15 pages). Are we going to have the same idea, or variable?

I think it's going to be more of a plot related cut off, though we should aim to achieve that cut off within 150 posts, I think.

Agreed on the usual 15 pages/150 posts.
I need to get 2 posts written really, one between ETB and Sera and other from the CMs POV. The thing about Chaos is its, well Chaos! Its not a force that sits in its tower twiddling its beard and plots, its a force that says "you die now!" and then just does it! But making the CM do that so early would just ruin everything we're trying to build.
hmmm.... just looking at the map on book 4. Temel is the next town over from Eshnar.... ETB and Sera could be heading in that direction... and so could the CMs armies... thinking maybe the CM decides to lash out/enslave Temel, converting people to Chaos... ETB and Sera are travelling that way and get mixed up in it somehow... hmmm....
