... March 2010!
Yes, that's right: according to the Mongoose website, the new version of the LW RPG will be released in 4 months, at the same time that LW 29 is supposed to be released if what Joe Dever's recent interviews are right.
From the Mongoose website:
Launched in the 80's, the Lone Wolf series of gamebooks quickly became firm favourites among a growing fan base. Alone among the gamebooks of their day, Lone Wolf was the only one to feature a cohesive and exciting world, and an extended campaign in which your character could grow and expand as he travelled through all 28 books of the original series. This was the first true mega-campaign!
Prepare to return to the world of Magnamund, this time with your friends. The Lone Wolf Multiplayer Gamebook is a full roleplaying game, based on the simple rules system of the solo books – it is so easy, anyone can play! The first book in this range brings you the core rules, introduces the Kai Lord character class and presents three introductory scenarios to get you started.
The book will be a softback of 140 pages, available for £10 (or $19.99 in the US).
In other news, the 14th gamebook of the LW series, The Captives of Kaag, is set for a release in February 2010.

Cool, you can run a game on LWRPGoL. Looks like we need a new 'un on there.

Yeah, what was the deal with the Kai Lord game we were involved in for a bit? I seem to recall Crymson saying it was connected with the Mongoose multiplayer gamebook in some fashion, shortly before he buggered off.

That game was fun, if only for the character creation. Raging Stallion swings in with his mace!!

As far as I know, we were playtesting the actual ruleset as it was then. Solid Snake rules. Umm, I mean..Sun Snake...

No! My character was the best! So good, in fact, that....I can't remember his name. Or indeed anything about him. Erm....
But the simpler the system, the easier to do a play-by-post game, I'd've thought, so this is sounding good.

After some fiddling about to recover the password, here's my guy. I'd forgotten how cool his avatar was.

Ooh, blasts from the past all round! I shudder to think how long back it was that we were playing that - was it even this year?
Thanks for the profile, Beo! Remember him now. Hmm, would rather like to play that character. Ah, well.
