Beowuuf pretends not to have heard for the benefit of not alerting the Captain, but his face is troubled. He concentrates on the door's inscription as he tries to work out what this all means.

While passing through the Hall you notice that there is a smaller door in the southern wall giving access to another room.
On one of the central shelves you pass by there is a Fireseed.
The journeymen has not mentioned anything about taking items so you are unsure if taking the Firessed will elicit any response or from the stewards.

eviltb notices the Fireseed, but for the moment leaves it as it is. Remembering what happened to the soldier and also the words of the journeyman, the NAK thought it would be better to continue on and what to see what item he actually needed when present with the mirror.

Beowuuf shakes his head to the captain, agreeing on his assessment. Beowuuf says he try to work on the writing, or perhaps help the soldiers in the work.
Once the captain goes (assuming he does) Beowuuf shares the true writing of the plaque. "I'm not sure if we want to be picking sides in this war yet,. Certainly, I'm not sure if we want armed soldiers we don't know provoking the supposedly peaceful guardians deeper inside. For now, discretion might be wise...."
Beowuuf thinks on the meaning of the words he has read. "So," he says quietly, pretending to point so some words and shrugging theatrically, "we need to use a specific goblet already in this place, and then we need to craft a replica of an apple? Hmm... and you say they haven't even started a fire so we need to get the forge working aswell?"

Doomy: Will Doomy look into the portal as well?
eviltb: You arrive at the far end of the room with the two journeymen. Continue to watch and observe?

Beowuuf suddenly growls. "There are others looking in this hall," he says in a hiss, "including three Drakkarim. That Nad-Adez-Konkor was not alone."

"Do you think they see you as you see them?" growls the Dwarf as takes his turn to peer into the portal.

There is no doubt that the Drakkarim has seen you.
Also, while you passed through the grand hall you can recall seeing at least two flattened corpses, one of a normal soldier and one of a Darklander.
If you asked about them the Captain will have curtly informed you that they drew their weapons and exchanged a few blows and were slain by the stewards.
PM sent to describe what Doomy sees in the Portal.
