The voting is going strong so far in the four thread. A nice spread, and no clear lead that could not be altered by a single vote in any of them. You vote counts, check over some creative efforts and vote now!

Agula Saber has put in three good efforts in to the second set of KDD5 contests!
Also, voting has continued, in some places showing clear winners, but in all cases positions are being hotly contested.
Don't hesitate, your vote is sure to break a deadlock!

I have my dear mum down for an extended weekend from Friday, so unless anyone yells otherwise my plan is to end the contest on Thursday evening/night BST.
That gives you all three days to vote, enter contests, and most importantly wonder the most important question...who will win the KDD5?
Will the Kai see off all comers again like last year? Is it finally the knights' time to shiny? Has Doomy seen the dwarfs proud this year as was his intention? Will Sam get a delayed birthday present?
Hmm... we shall soon see!
Edit: unfortunate mispelling corrected

Has Doomy seen the dwarfs proud this year as was his intention? Probably not! Is it too late to bribe the voters?

Not until @7pm Thursday evening BST.
Of course, there is absolutely no way for you to know who has voted and who hasn't yet! I'll take a nice bottle of 18 year old bottle of Glenmorange please!

Is 'scotch' an americanism that has gained more and more leverage, or has it always existed and has a specific meaning? I've been curious in recent years to hear it used more often where I would expect non-americans to say 'whiskey!'

And con is such a nasty word - I like to think of it as a deserved rewards for a creative gambit!

I've been curious in recent years to hear it used more often where I would expect non-americans to say 'whiskey!' Well, there's "whiskey", "whisky" and "Scotch". Whiskey is American, and refers to bourbons, Jack Daniel's and the like. US federal law defines what is and is not whiskey, for American brands at least. Whisky is non-American, but can come from anywhere. Only Scottish products can legally be sold as "Scotch", and even then they have to match specific standards as the term is protected by law. Ireland also produces whiskey, largely to differentiate it from Scotch.

Yeah, everything about whiskey/whisky is confusing! But so is this damned Sixth Sense puzzle! And THAT'S how you steer a topic back on track.
