Ku-ir Mastery (manupilation of the air element)
Right. So what effects do you wish to create?
We will need to settle two things. Way of paying for ability use: since you are not a magic user I guess Health is your only option. Way of activation: you can either get it as a free action at the start of a round, or you can pay an activity cost. Free actions are once per round and only one of them in any one round, while you can potentially use the ability several times per round if you choose an activation cost.
Limiter to Powers: This will be your Strength score. You cannot pay more Health than your current Strength score.
Possible uses: 1. Concussive Blast as per the Vakeros Power Word. Cost: Up to Strength Health. You create a pressure-wave which hits everyone adjacent to you for sonic damage. Damage = Health paid.
2. Peal of Thunder as per the Telchos Battle-cry Cost: 4 Health. This is an Area of Effect magical attack (Eye+Mind). No damage for a Miss. Damage: d6 electrical. All targets in area must make a Strength check with DC 5 or be Stunned.
3. Sound Burst. Cost: 4 Health. This is an Area of Effect magical attack (Eye+Mind). No damage for a Miss. Damage: d6 sonic. All targets in area must make a Strength check with DC 5 or be Stunned.
4. Static Weapon as per Telchos Battle-cry. Enchants one Weapon. Not usable on guns but usable on other ranged. Cost: Up to Strength Health. Minimum 1. All hits with the enchanted weapon do an additional 1d2 Electrical damage. Lasts for 2+Paid Health Rounds.
5. Shocking Weapon Enchants one Weapon. Not usable on guns but usable on other ranged. Cost: Up to Strength Health. Minimum 1. All hits with the enchanted weapon do an additional 1d2 Sonic damage. Lasts for 2+Paid Health Rounds.
6. Summon Fog Cost: Up to Strenght Health. Minimum 1. Creates a Fog in a targeted area. Any person in that area gets: -2 Perception, +2 Stealth, +1 to defence to be hit. Lasts for paid cost x 2 Rounds.
7. Summon Air Shield Cost: Up to Strength Health. Minimum 1. Creates an Air Shield around a person. This Air Shield is effective in deflective and reducing any ranged attacks, physical or magical. The targeted person gets + 1 defence and damage taken is reduced with 1 point (physical, elemental, magical). Lasts for 1 round per paid Health.
You have two free specials. I'd say you can get 3 of the above per special. So if you take 2 specials, you can select six. You can also suggest more uses yourself.
I will classify the Arc Blade as a normal weapon.
You have one more free item.
There is no limit to RP items. Since the Obsidian Rod is much like a lit Lantern it is a free item for the purpose of this tournament.

Ku-ir Mastery (manupilation of Air)
Brief description:
This skill revolves around the element of air and the wielder is able to manupilate the air as an element to suit his own means. There is no fixed way to use this as it is up to the user’s creativity. So far the few basic uses have been documented so far
1) Drive: user is able to project out a ball of concentrated compressed air to hit his opponent. As his level and familiarity increases, he will be able to project multiple shots simultaneously.
2) Void: User is able to manipulate a vacuum to cut through objects and induce objects with the same properties. Advancement in this will result in wielder able to slice through thicker and tougher objects
3) Fend: The user is able to make use of compressed air to deflect, parry and protect himself from blows. User is able to use this to staunch bleeding wounds by concentrating air on the wound itself.
4) Glade: User is able to call upon wind and other wind related attacks such as tornado (causing the air around to swirl and spin) , lighting (caused by friction between air)

Overall, you do not have levels in the game. The level is simply based on the amount of Health you put into the effect. This is limited to your Strength score, so you have level 1 or 2.
Drive: My suggestion is Concussive Blast or Sound Burst.
You cannot use air to cause damage without specifying what causes the damage. Use the table below: Difference in air pressure: sonic Electrical discharge: electric (unlikly with the description given) Drop of temperature: cold
To use directed sonic damage as a ranged weapon without having it be an area effect is all but impossible. Pressure differences very rapidly spread over an area.
There is so far not any dedicated use of Void in this game. I guess it can have similar affects to Drive, since over-pressure always goes along with an under-pressure somewhere else.
Fend is Summon Air Shield.
The wounds part would be something else, although staunching a bleeding will not heal you but only prevent further loss of Health. This game does not have a bleeding system or weapons causing "Wounding" so I guess this use of Fend is RP only.
Glade. The closest you get to these are Peal of Thunder and Sound Burst.
Creating a Tornado is just too powerful an ability for this game, so you cannot do that during the events, nor can Aguila although Mongoose added a primal-scream that did just that. This does not necessarily mean you cannot do it at all, but to use such a powerful ability I'd require at least 20 Rounds of preparation, which means by the time the effect is in place the event is over.
Going by those which resembles closes you have 4 candidates: Concussive Blast Sound Burst Air Shield Peal of Thunder
It is 3 per special, so you always consider taking three of them (Sound Burst and Peal of Thunder are very similar) and another special for something else entirely.

You have one more day to finish up the Marksmanship event in the IC day... then I will try to post something to start-up the Quarterstaff on Pole event.

Will likely take a few weeks and there is no other event planned for a while. By the way, you can call the abilities what you want. It is only the effects which will be similar to the stated abilities. To sign-up for the quarterstaff event we need to settle your special list. How to pay for abilities we can resolve at a later time since it will not be of importance for the quarterstaff event.

While we await Woofy's return....
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas for next event ?
Time is flying and in an attempt to keep the scope somewhat limit, there is now only 3 remaining events.
1. Axe tournament, revised rules. 2. Sun-crystal knock-out game. (Greel like.) 3. Overland Challenge (Similar to the Avalar and casiorn games.)

Well, I reckon the Overland Challenge would make the best finale of the three, so either the axe tournament or the Sun crystal game should be next. The greel-like game seems like the best fit to follow the quarterstaff contest. You could make it so we finally batter a path through the Annihilators with our quarterstaffs, then arrive on the "pitch".

* nods *
Yes, the Overland Challenge will be the last one.
The two remaining will probably be more or less independent, as is the current one, so could be any order on them.

Yeah, sorry for not managing to post further moves, and of course living in a country where it takes so long to get internet from scratch again! Back now!
Can i suggest, given the disruption of christmas/new year, that the axe tournament would be the next logical event? It requires less participation, allowing (I assume) a fresh start in the new year for the more involved greel match leading to the overland challenge?

I do not believe the Quarterstafff contest will be finished before new year. After the qualification there is a final as well. So assume that we start up with next event in early january and then either Axe or Greel. If you are hungry for an extra contest before X-mas then I guess we could arrange the axe tournament before X-mas. I've a lot to do at work these two weeks so I will not be able to hold a second event.

Hmmmm.... I don't think I have the accumlated results anywhere.
What do you think? New thread? Or edit it in in the first post here. I've added the qualification summary of QoP in the first post in that thread.
