I think when this topic came up on Project Aon one time I doodled this little section of book 2 to amuse myself, just found it now and wanted to share.
Don't worry, it's not even PG rated, even if it looks as if it will be tending towards there...
Section 346A
Lone Wolf felt the confines of both the coach and the company acutely during the journey, and relief was not forthcoming this night. The priest tried to engage him in conversation endlessly, and without much feinting Lone Wolf eventually begged tiredness. Fingering the scant few Gold Crowns in his pocket, he was tempted to try his luck at some games of chance that other patrons were engaged in, but then he felt another yawn rack his body and decided it was best not to lose what little he had left.
He set a single Crown down for his room, taking the key thankfully from the non-descript innkeeper. He looked about for the bothersome priest, and saw him thankfully engaging in earnest pontification with one of the brother Knights. Lone Wolf almost left it at that, but something caught his eye - or rather someone. She was a young girl barely older than him in appearance, regarding him with less than innocent eyes.
Lone Wolf had been stared at by unwelcoming Ragadornians in suspicion, by a King's court with wonder and in hate by the Giaks and other spawn of Helgadad. He now examined gazes for signs of recognition or hostility, but never did he expect to find a girl looking at him as if he were simply an attractive stranger in a bar. It was certainly unusual in his current circumstances to be allowed to act his age, to forget the worries of war and his years at the monastery.
The girl was certainly pretty, though shy seeming. Not enough to keep his gaze when he looked over to her, and certainly not shy enough to smile hesitantly and cock her head slightly to the corner by the stairs where she stood. Lone Wolf smiled in return and walked quickly across.
"You...you are a Kai Lord?" asked the girl quietly and nervously. Lone Wolf froze and looked around quickly to see what other eyes were watching, to again make sure his fellow passengers were not close.
"What makes you think that?" he asked, trying to keep his tone light and failing.
"It's alright...I...I have something for you..." she said again, swallowing. "Please, come upstairs..."
Lone Wolf took a final look around and then nodded. She smiled the shy smile again, more nervous than before, and walked quickly up the stairwell. Equally as nervous for conflicting reasons, he followed her up and into the room whose door she opened.
"What is the information?" asked Lone Wolf as he looked into the corridor then closed the door. Turning round he then felt his face blush. While the girl was still properly dressed, without her top the bustiere certainly hinted at her form, and showed soft skin on her shoulders and neck.
"I did not say information my lord," she said with that same smile and less than innocent look. "I...I do not assume I am the only one who could provide it, but I am certainly the only one offering you some small comfort on such a dreary night..."
She stood with her hands demurely behind her back, and despite her words seemed increasingly nervous. Her gaze didn't falter though, not even when Lone Wolf finally broke his shocked pause and moved forward with purpose towards her. Her breath caught in her throat as he came up beside her then was let go in surprise as he gently pushed past her and threw back the covers of her bed.
The snake revealed coiled between the sheets was echoed in the tattoo on the wrist Lone Wolf grabbed for behind her back. She was shaking as Lone Wolf looked impassively between her, the tattoo and the snake. While the tattoo was obviously new, the inks probably still wet beneath her skin, the real snake was in the prime of life, deadly and quick.
Lone Wolf did not stop darting gazes to the snake, even as he heard small sounds of movement outside the door, the quiet breathing of someone trying to listen in. A dagger appeared in his hand and he looked at the girl again. Even if she wanted to say anything it was clear her breath was caught in her throat. A moment of silence past, Lone Wolf's gaze going form her to the door to the snake. Gently he released the pressure on her wrist and let it fall. Gently she let her breathe out.
"My dear?" came a deep voice from outside,"Is everything alright?" The depth of the voice and tone seemed wrong, but Lone Wolf could swear he recognised it somehow. "Is the young cub..?" The hissed words hung in the air.
Lone Wolf's hand sliced out, spearing the snake. The girl gasped. Lone Wolf quickly gestured to himself, then shook his head as he pressed his own finger to his lips. A drop of blood dripped slowly from the blade he was also holding.
"The Kai Lord did not come in," said the girl, voice crackling. "I am sorry."
"No matter," said the voice soothingly behind the door, again annoyingly familiar to Lone Wolf and yet not familiar enough. "I should have known a Kai monk could not be waylaid that way. He was probably in the choir with the singing voice he must have, the eunuch..."
"I'm...I'm not decent..." said the girl.
"Do not worry, I will leave you alone for tonight, you tried. And have no fear for tomorrow, you are one of us my child and we will look after you..."
Footsteps echoed away and back down the stairs.
Lone Wolf slowly stepped away from the girl, a strange look in his eyes. He turned and opened the door gently, looking left and right down the corridor.
Lone Wolf gave the girl one last look, his eyes moving up and down insolently, then he smiled widely and bowed low. Gently he walked out of the room, closing the door softly.
The girl stood shaking afterwards, a strange expression on her face, looking towards where the departed Kai Lord had stood.
