I almost always create websites for the RPG's I run, mainly to serve as a center for resources for my players. Here's an example of one I made for a WoW RPG I intended to run (though it never did get off the ground): www.geocities.com/warcraft_titan/Wow... looking at all the effort I put into that site it's a shame I didn't run it... maybe I'll have to in the future. BUT! Right now I'm in a Lone Wolf train of thought, which means I have a desire to make a site for my game. The big question (with a lot of preamble, apparently) is whether or not to incorporate the artwork from the various books into the website. To me, the drawings are really an integral part of my vision of Magnamund, and without them much of the flavor is lost. And I don't intend to make any profit off of the site in any way. But I also hate copyright infringement, particularly when it comes to artwork as I'm something of an artist myself. What do people think? Would it be okay to use LW artwork in an entirely non-profit way in order to do justice to the theme of the Magnamund universe?

You can get permission to use that artwork, which is fine (so long as the person you get permission from still owns the rights to their work).
Technically, you are "benefitting" from someone else's creative efforts when you are using their piece(s) of work on your website, whether you are actually making any money on it or not. Consequently, if an artist or publisher (whomever owns the rights to that particular piece of work) ever objected, they would be well within their rights to request you take it down (and not be polite about it, if you refused). Further, depending on where you host your web page, you might be inadvertently be breaking the law if the host puts advertisements on your webpage. However, in the end, this all remains a very complicated issue, even within the U.S. There are still no absolutely firm answers or precedents to work with, and so a lot of creative work continues to get provided and distributed online outside the control of the owner of the work.
Consequently, the best favor you can probably do yourself is just contact the artist(s), in advance, and ask permission. If you do that, you sidestep any and all of the above considerations.

Are you planning on a table top or play by post game? If you are a GM, the LWRPGPOL is available to use. I am an Admin there if you are interested. Al

It's a tabletop game. The site is only for use by my players for finding resources (downloading character sheets, playing the Project Aon books, etc.).

If you are ever interested in hosting an online play by post game, let us know, there is always a shortage of GMs. The two games we have here filled up pretty quickly with players!

I would like to run a game but, to be honest, I don't want to use the LWRPG (d20 version). I want to use a simple system that can mimic the gamebooks (ideally, I would like to use the new RPG, but it ain't out ....) Any suggestions?

I guess just mimic the gamebooks Use the combat skill/endurace of LW, Banedon or Grey Star as templates, togther with their powers for character classes, and use d10s to resolve anything with chance. Have disciplines, good tactics or advantage addd pluses to the rule, bad factors or surprise give a minus. You can always build up some talents or skills sets as they progress to give bonuses to the random numbers. Otherwise use the existing equipment restrictions and bonuses from the books as a way of knowing what equipment should do

I had thought of doing that, to be honest. We have potentially 3 classes defined (Kai Lord, Magician and Shianti); I guess I could create some others as well.
Would others be interested in such a game?

Since the new RPG is supposed to let you lift from the gamebooks, I'm sure it would be valuable to try and use any system just to spot exactly what tweaks are needed
Sadly, I'm already commited to a game, but if you want to host a play by post, as Al said you are welcome to use the LWRPGoL site to host such a game, no matter the rules.

Heyo,
Bit of a lurker here, but I'd definitely be down if another game were started crymson, whatever the rules.

As soon as you are ready, send me a PM and I will set it all up for you - but first you will need to register as a char before I can do anything for you.

Sorry about lack of updates; I have a basic idea of what I am going to do and should be ready soon if anyone is still interested!
