And GM, I forgot to mention, I am looking at a skill heavy character, as I envisage this character being a cross between Grek-Al (guerrilla) and Althorn (knight). Sort of a midevil Green Beret kind of character, given your description of the setting. 'kay. Start putting together a character description and background. It might be that we may represent your thoughts there by some multi-class combination of Knight of the Shield and Pathfinder.

Call it 6 players. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I would be interested and have an idea but will leave it if you have enough interest from players who have not yet had any chance to play the rpg yet.

Death in Torgar. Is that a Legends thing?

I think by the fact he put "death" like that Maerin is refering to the assumed death of Lonewolf when he fell into the shadowgate.

I think I would be interested, but I'm not sure what class I would want to play, especially if you've already barred the BCS or (obviously) the Kai.

Don't worry. I noticed the word was in speach marks. It's just that I can't remember if the Dungeons of Torgar was book 6 or book 11, and either way Lone Wolf had more adventures afterwards so I'm wondering if this is a reference to John Grant's famous "I can't be bothered writing any more of this so I'm going to wreck it even more than I already have by destroying it to really put my mark on it" moment or to something that occurred in the gamebook.

Oh ye of suspicious mind... No, actually it is a gamebook reference. After Gnaag caused Lone Wolf and the Lorestones to plunge into the Shadow Gate, he announced Lone Wolf's death to the world. Presumably, the Darklord was able to be convincing, as even those like Banedon and Rimoah believed Lone Wolf dead (and they would have been rather tough to fool, I expect). That belief did not change until Rimoah's vision of Lone Wolf's return to Sommerlund, which was said to have occurred roughly three months before Lone Wolf's actual return from the Daziarn. My reference for all of this comes from The Masters of Darkness sections 94 and 116.

I think I would be interested, but I'm not sure what class I would want to play, especially if you've already barred the BCS or (obviously) the Kai. 'kay, if I was not clear before, you might play a character that has the class "Brother of the Crystal Star", possibly with some small modifications. There are other magicians in the world aside from that one order in Sommerlund. One of the characters we meet in The Cauldron of Fear, the Tahouese magician by name of Chiban, is but one example. Maerin grins. I am challenging all prospective players to think outside those tight little constrictions that published LWRPG classes put on this setting. It is better to talk about what character you want to play, and we'll find a class or classes to fit the bill. My only hard and fast "no" regards the Kai, and my reasons are entirely a matter of sustaining setting integrity in the timeframe of my game. In addition to the problems I mentioned previously, there would be one further issue with ANY Kai character. Once it becomes known that Lone Wolf is dead, that character essentially "inherits" Lone Wolf's obligations (being of a Journeyman rank puts that character close enough to Master to be one of the most experienced among any new Kai that might exist at this time), which would be incompatible with the story or stories I want to run.

Truth to tell, if I have to flex the total number of players a bit higher than 6, that can be managed. Right now, I'm trying to sort out people's comments to this thread between "possible interest with questions" and "I'm in". So far, I have been able to parse out about three "I'm in".

Well, if you can put up with a total newbie at this sort of thing, you can count me in too, since I have (ahem) acquired temporary access to the LW RPG book. I'm thinking of combining aspects of a Signs and Portents Palmyrion Knight of the Shield with a Sommlending Knight of the Realm to possibly create a reasonable facsimile of a Knight of the White Mountain. I'm thinking this would basically be an infantry-based Knight of the Shield (since Ganon and Dorier travel by coach) but with the Sommlending's Code of Honour as Book 2 also states Knights of the White Mountain never lie.
