Because people need would find valuable might be interested are going to read about Ghost Bear
General Nosey Stuff
Why did you choose your screen name?
Ghost Bear is a Kai Lord I played in Aguila Saber's ERPG, so I had the identity before joining TotS. I picked the name originally simply because it sounded 'Kai Like' and because I was playing a lot of Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries at the time. Basically the character of Ghost Bear in the ERPG was derived from the name – I made him skilled in the Lore Circle of Solaris (specifically Camouflage), hence 'Ghost' and also made him big and tough physically (hence Bear').
Do you have a real name you might be willing to share?
Sure – Daniel Llywelyn Evans, although I don't like 'Daniel' in its full form (too formal to my ears) so prefer Dan.
How old are you?
24 – 25 in July.
What do you do for a living?
I just (today!) got a new job as lead developer for Bridgend County Council's new Contact Centre application – written in J2EE.
What part of the world are you from?
Wales (fluent Welsh speaker too)
Married?
Nope
Got kids?
Nope
Got pets?
My parents have a dog called Madog, but I live away now, so no.
Height? Weight?
5'10”, 11 stone.
Favourite Food?
Chinese generally, but my favourite dish is spaghetti bolognese.
In a fit of generosity, TotS is buying the next round. What’ll it be?
Why thank you TotS. If I'm drinking lager, it'd be San Miguel. If I've moved on to shorts, it'd be Jack Daniels & Coke. And if I'm on the shots, it'd be sambuca or red aftershock.
They say that music and film says a lot about you, so…
Favourite bands?
Loads and Loads:
Trance and Happy Hardcore mainly:
Mauro Picotto, Special D, Sven R G Feat Bass T, Groove Coverage, The Mighty 2 Unlimited, Hixxy, Sy, Force & Styles, Bulldozer Project, Cascada, DJ Boozy Woozy, Tiesto, Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Floorfilla, Jan Wayne, Gigi D'Agostino, Kosheen, Jurgen Vries, Mario Piu, Members of Mayday, Orbital, Robert Miles, Ricky Le Roy, Warp Brothers, Voodoo & Serano, Bang! Redman, Black Eyed Peas, Sugarhill Gang, Scratch Perverts, Killa Kella, Massive Attack, Mos Def, Beastie Boys, AC/DC, Fozzy, Chris Rea, James, The Incredible Bongo Band, Led Zeppelin, Manics, Stereophonics, Oasis, Rob Dougan, Rage Against The Machine, The Verve, The Who, Edward H Dafis, The Doors, Sigur Ros, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Ice Cube, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the Fratellis, and more.
What was the last album you bought? Was it any good?
Haven't bought an album for about 2 years. I think it was Mauro Picotto's Superclub. It was OK. Not his best work. The last band I saw live (should we add this as a seperate question?) were the Manic Street Preachers. They were absolutely outstanding.
Favourite films?
Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Fast & Furious, Batman Begins, American Pie, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Just Friends, Ace Ventura, The Mask, Cool Runnings, Blade, Team America, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Life of Brian, Transformers (both of 'em), Hot Fuzz and many more.
Favourite TV shows?
Torchwood, Scrubs, Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Porridge, Red Dwarf, Star Trek Deep Space 9, Top Gear, 24, Big Train
Favourite books?
Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, Harry Potter, Robert Crais' Elvis Cole series, Ian Rankin's Rebus series, Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar series, Discworld - the City Watch ones. The Odessa File by Fredrick Forsyth, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harpur Lee (best book ever written), The Lone Wolf series by Joe Dever. The Star Trek DS9 Relaunch novels(apart from Warpath, which was terrible).
Got any vices? (Smoke, drink, gamble, anything else that fits)
I enjoy my drink and socialising. That's about it.
Travelled much? To which countries?
A fair few... France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece, Japan, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi and I'm going to Cyprus later this year for a friend's wedding.
Which sports teams (if any) do you support?
The Welsh national rugby team. The Ospreys (rugby), Swansea City (football).
Which sports (if any) do you play?
I enjoy skiing though haven't been in a while. I also play the odd game of 5-a-side football.
Any other hobbies/interests?
Socialising, clubbing, drinking, reading, computing, Games Workshop games (Battlefleet Gothic),
Lone Wolf Stuff
How old were you when you first found Lone Wolf and how did you meet him?
I was quite a latecomer to the world. I was 16 I think.
Have you read all the books yet? If not, which ones do you need to read?
Nope. I need to read books 22, 25, 26 and 28.
Favourite book?
Book 18, Dawn of the Dragons – I just loved travelling all through the Lastlands on my way home.
Least favourite book?
Probably Castle Death. It was too much a standard dungeon crawl I think.
Favourite character(s)?
Banedon obviously, but I also really liked Captain Praarg from books 13 and 16.
Characters you love to hate?
Roark. He was a brilliantly written bad guy.
Characters you just hate?
Corny and cliché I know, but Viveka and Qinefer from the Legends.
Favourite Special Item?
The Sommerswerd, obviously. Other than that, there was something personal and unique about the Crystal Star Pendant.
Best death?
Falling from the dying Itikar if Banedon fails to catch you in book 5 is pretty good. That whole escape sequence is excellent.
Best fight scene?
I really enjoyed fighting the Vassagonian captain at the top of the tower in Ruanon in Book 4.
Best action sequence from the books?
Definitely rescuing Praarg and escaping from the Drakkarim in the Dark Crusade.
Any interesting Lone Wolf stories?
Nope, sadly.
Lone Wolf RPG Stuff
Have you played the RPG yet?
Only on Play By Board games.
Which classes have you played?
I've played a Kai Lord and a Vakeros
Favourite classes and why?
As above. They both have some interesting abilities. I'd imagine that a Kai Lord would be difficult to keep track of his skills and such at higher levels though.
Least favourite classes and why?
The Brother of the Crystal Star seemed sadly one dimensional. Also the Shianti Sorcerer was too similar to the Magician of Dessi, and too powerful at high levels.
Any good Lone Wolf gaming stories to tell?
Nope – I sadly didn't play long enough to get any good stories.
General RPG gaming stuff
How long have you been into RPG?
Ages and ages. All the way back to Fighting Fantasy – but I've never played many. Warhammer Quest is probably the one I've got the most enjoyment out of.
Which are your favourite worlds?
I really like White Wolf's World of Darkness (I've only experienced it through the PC Game Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines). The Warhammer 40,000 world is excellent too.
Least favourite?
None really. I've never gotten into any of the bad ones.
Tower of the Sun

And the bit you feel needs the most work?
All of it, at the moment!!
