This thread is only for the fighters and me. All spectators should post in the Stadium thread.
Also, don't forget to vote! Spectators are an important part of this tournament, giving viewers the chance to change the final decision of a fight. Vote in as many fights as you wish. Fighters can also vote, though good etiquette demands they hold to their honor and not vote for themselves.
Okay guys, go ahead whenever you're ready. Either one of you can start. You take turns after that. This match will end when both players have made ten posts, or by Friday.

Beowuuf is not sure afterwards if the mishap was a rebuke from his wolfish side for a 'weak' attitude to this fight, or if the effect were generated by malign agencies on the sidelines.
All Beowuuf know is that while he is maneuvering defensively in preparation for Sarra's first move, bluesteel short sword and dagger both readied, his wolfish legs betray him and he trips over to land hard on the ground.
The blow to the side of his head brings back memories of training with Sahmas and similarly being caught unawares for better reasons, while the pain in his shoulder brings him out again to reality and tells him his bluesteel short sword has inflicted its first wound of the match.
Beowuuf staggers back up, pulling the blade free of his shoulder.
His hand bleeds heavily as it is forced to grab the edge of the blade to pull the sword out, and Beowuuf does the only thing he can in the situation as he regards his opponent - laugh.

Beowuuf's laughter brought back similar calls of laughter from the crowd, but he barely heard them. The fall had been worse than he'd thought. His shoulder ached terribly. If he wanted to keep using the Bluesteel blade, he'd have to drop the dagger and hold the weapon with two hands.

Sarra's first instinct was to take advantage of Beowuuf's plight. The young Vakerine runs forward towards her enemy, leaping into the air and spinning at the last second. She jabs at Beowuuf's side with her blue-steel sword but only succeeds in trimming some of the fur at his stomach.
With a flick of her wrist she counter-struck with her razor-edged sword, slicing a small furrow across the Vakeros' thigh.

The dagger is thrown to the ground, and Beowuuf nods to Sarra as if the motion were to indicate an honourable re-distribution of weaponary on the wolf's part.
Beowuuf transfers the bloodied short sword to his good arm, while his free hand wipes the blood from his other hand and also caresses the bruise on his face as he closes his eyes temporarily wincing at the earlier fall.
Beowuuf hopes in the heat of battle the movements are subtle, as in reality he takes the yellow stone and presses it up to his head, closing his eyes to concentrate until he feels his body begin to ripple and shift.
However, the transformation does not feel merely physical, and Alasi Relivaur stands tall regarding his kin.
"Fight well my kin," chides the man, pointing his sword towards the young woman, "do not dishonour our family name nor fail your training in your attacks on a fellow Vakeros."

The sight of her deceased grandfather comes to Sarra like a slap in the face. The sword in her hand twitches visibly as she tries to fight off her instincts and attack. Grim and determined Sarra reaches into her pocket and pulls out her red gem. The Vakeros grips the red stone tightly and speaks the power word, her hand feeling like it’s fire.
Sarra immediately bursts into breakneck speeds as she runs towards the form of Alasi Relivaur. As she closes in she immediately changes direction, skipping of to the side then with mind-blowing agility she strikes out at her opponent again and again, always from a different direction. Alasi's defensive skills with Soulforge are unparalleled however and Sarra is forced to turn away from the offensive. Despite the power of the red stone and her own abilities Alasi was able to repel each of her jabs.

Beowuuf is still reeling from the transformation, for even though mental disorientation should be something Beowuuf should be used to, the lingering love and respect Alasi had for his kin still lingers.
Though so does the disappointment in her reckless actions.
"Taking advantage of an opponent's weakness is showing weakness," says Beowuuf in tones similar to Alasi, as he finally sees Sarra's now human final blows coming.
Beowuuf uses the momentum of her fast attack to create the power, so all he has to do is allow the wolf limb's dexterous flick to catch her squarely in the face and send her flying backwards.
"As a Vakeros we are always outnumbered on the front lines, we can only rely on taking advantage of opponent's strength - remember that!"

Sarra flies backwards, coming to a screeching halt on all fours. Quickly she stands, spinning her blue-steel blade as she grasps the heavy handle of her mace with her free hand.
"You don't need to recite words from the Vakeros Code to me!" Sarra retorts in turn, now enraged at her opponent's well-aimed strike.
Sarra lunged forward, feigning an attack to Beowuuf's right before slamming the tip of her blue-steel sword into the pommel of his weapon. As the vibrations jump up and down Beowuuf's hand Sarra attempts to knock away his blade with her mace.

Beowuuf simple drops the weapon to grip Sarra's mace then falls on his rump, leg already swinging around with his wolf body's grace to knock out the agile Vakeros's legs from under her.
The wolf throws the mace far away even as he punches downwards to catch Sarra on her brow.
His swing missed, but the bluesteel shrapnel in his arm does the damage, skiffing her and causing blood to flood into her eye even as she darts away.
"Apparently I do need to teach you", taunts Beowuuf as he hops from foot to foot using his subtle leg muscles to their fullest to create confusion as to his next move.
Sarra spots the feint Beowuuf makes to take advantage of her blindside, and so is possibly surprised when the wolf strikes her instead in her good eye, infuriating her but temporary blinding her as he further retorts, "opponents tend to guard weaknesses not strengths."

Beowuuf's words echoed in Sarra's mind and for the first time since this match began she decided to trust what he was telling her. Although momentarily blinded she stepped forward, throwing a hard punch at Beowuuf's wounded shoulder.
"Skip the teaching, Beowuuf; perhaps you should have protected your weaknesses!"
As blood ran down her face Sarra wiped it away and proceeded to step up her game by spinning her sword into a defensive position.
"Let's see you get in a strike against me!"

Beowuuf mutters words that sound like curses as he backs off, in terrible pain from the shoulder punch.
However, his strained words are still visibly condescending in regards to Sarra: "What did I tell you about an opponent's strengths not weaknessess?"
Beowuuf has used the buried shards in his arm lower down to cast a hold person while Sarra is wiping blood from her face, and her spinning sword comes to a brief halt shaking in her hand.
He walks over quickly, mindful of his limited abilities in magic and against this powerful young knight, and taunts her with a small poke of his finger to her injured brow making it bleed worse before he walks off to recover his own weapon.
"You will have to try much harder than that to goad me into attacking you," says Beowuuf, standing in his own defensive posture.

Sarra said nothing in return but quickly stepped backwards while shouting a word in draconic. An invisible blade of twitching energy struck Beowuuf while Sarra concentrated a few meters away.
Sarra taunted as she struck out with Dessi Sorcery once again: "Press the attack before there is nothing left of you, that's my tip, Beowuuf!"
The young Vakeros ran straight at Beowuuf, jumping into the air and landing behind him before preparing to lash out again with her sorcery.
"If you don't try and defeat me I will not rest until your senseless body lies at my feet."

As Sarra's foot struck out near Beowuuf, he made to grab it then cursed as she sailed overhead doing what he was taunting her not to, which was to force him to fight on her terms. His various wounds and non-wolf abilities would not match her speed, that was certain.
Beowuuf instead stepped backwards, grinning and hoping it didn't look like a grimace with the pain he was in.
"I am sure that would make the great Alasi proud, but do you really think you can do it?" said Beowuuf, the name coming out strangely, although it passed attention the moment it was uttered.
"Let's us see what you can really do, after you have a rest" said Beowuuf, summoning an invisible fist spell to blast under Sarra's ribs, taking the wind from her and knocking her to one knee in shock.

The invisible first spell slapped against Sarra's ribs, forcing her down onto her knee. She looked up at her opponent and through the jabbing pain was able to force a smile.
"That's more like it Beowuuf, stop running from your duties and show me what a Vakeros Commander can really do!"
As Beowuuf turned to face her Sarra climbed to her feat, spinning the the twitching sword in her right hand as she did so.
"Now we have a real contest, my friend," said Sarra as she jabbed the blue-steel weapon's point towards Beowuuf's stomach.

No one could tell later if it was an accident or not. Sara's blade, which seemed to twitch and shiver in her hand, suddenly was flying through the air.
A case of sweaty palms, or an intended attack? In either case, the blade pierced Beowuuf's left leg, and he went down on one knee.
He didn't let out even a gasp of pain, but he knew the wound was bad. If he didn't recieve quick medical attention, he could lose the leg. And there was no way he could stand on it for the rest of the fight. He was now grounded to one spot.
Of course, Sara had lost her blade, but he doubted it was a fair trade.
