What was your first experience of Lone Wolf? What book did you read first? For me, it was Shadow on the Sand. I was 10 years old and it was loaned to me by a school friend for just one school day. And that was enough to hook me. You can read the rest of my trip down memory lane here: www.4thwallgames.net/news/personal-memories-of-the-lone-wolf-series/And please, share your own memories!

Fire on the water, when I was around 12 years old. The epic sea battle near the end of the book brought me great moments.

The Darke Crusade, I was perhaps 9 or 10 years old. Loved the whole gritty setting, the sneaking into the temple, the race alone in the snow to reach Magnaarg and the final battle, all with the great pictures and map.

Fire on the water- I was twelve. It was late summer I had met up with my cousin Rob to play tennis, when it started raining, not a light drizzle but a hard rain. We were soaked in seconds. Since he lived closest to the tennis courts we booked it to his place. Once there we needed something to do indoors. Now days that would be an easy problem to solve, but back then before the internet and video games (Nintendo might have been in north america by then, but we didn't own one yet). When my cousin suggested I help him navigate through the wildlands and retrieve something called the sommerswerd? I was hooked before the last harbour thug's body hit the floor. I had played choose your own adventure books before, our school library carried them, but those Fighting Fantasy books didn't even compare to Lone Wolf.

Any more, I try to experience lone wolf through my kids. I'll read and let them make the decisions and do the math in their head. Fond memories, I'm up to daughter number four on LW#3 Caverns of Kalte.
