*EDIT* With Cubicle 7 getting the rights to publish the entire LW series of gamebooks, this thread is no longer relevant. Check out the new thread here: link*** Mongoose Publishing had previously revealed a cover artwork for book 29. That was when they still had the rights to print the LW series. With the series shifting to a new publisher, Mantikore-Verlag decided to create a new cover artwork for this book. And here it is: From the Mantikore website:

Another Agarash artifact, and a period so dangerous that seven missions are instigated at once? Hmm...

Hopefully not all the Grand Masters need to be sucessful. 7 in 7 odds are not good. 1 out of 7 is very good odds. Have a feeling that some NPC GM's will get the axe.
Where does Naar get all the resources to make major assaults w/o the moonstone? At some point the Plane of Darkness has to get empty as everyone with skill is used up (Keytaag, Zantaz etc). But it is getting there.

There was a timeline and a transcript of the story so far in Signs and Portents issue 87 (Dec 2010, so this has been 5 years in the making): www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/sp87.pdfThese 7 missions are all given to grand masters and this time the grand masters all gets names, and 4 of them are the Kai Masters mentioned in Wolf's Bane. We can also see where the attacks originates from and by who. Mostly it is agarashi rising up from the chasms across Magnamund with a few exceptions.

I think the idea with the agarashi/agarash is the whole 'gone not forgotten' / 'sleeping not dead' thing. Just like the Elder Magi stopped being champions but still managed to keep helping the side of good.

Hmmm... yeah, well, apparently, there's now 6 missions, not 7: in the SsF published by Mongoose in 2010, there's one mission for each of the 6 GM (which indeed are named: Blazer, Steel Hand, Black Hawk, Star Lynx, Swift Sword and yourself). Mantikore made a correction on their website, so I'll be doing the same thing with the first post.

Kraknalorg Chasm (Starn and Boradon) 3. Doomlands South (Bhanar) 4. Maakengorge (Stornlands, Darklands, Sommerlund) 5. New Darklands chasm (Southern Darklands) 6. Gorgoron (Dessi) 7. Kalte (Kalte) Maybe the Elder Magi is handling the Dessi problem themselves. Doomlands North was taken up as 2 different events in the timeline, one attack on Jaroc (from Doomlands) and one on Varedo (from Darkwall Mountains).

Doesn't mean that each 6 GM will go on a mission related to these places. After all, the NO GM is just going to pick up a stone, not fighting an invincible horde of Agarashi. Should be an easy mission...

It is a safe bet that there will be complications. And most likely the GM will find himself close to the Doomlands before the adventure is over.
Not actually hitting and killing the leaders for the Agarashi is not a sustainable tactics in the longer term.
