Ok, first, one little thing: Book 14 will be released in September and Book 15 in November, according the new schedule released by Mongoose.
Now, for the big juicy part: Joe Dever gave an exclusive interview to the Italian community of Librogame's Land (www.librogame.net) in which he tells the events that took place after the end of book 28 and before the beginning of book 29. A lot of things in there.
BIG SPOILER WARNING OF DOOM! DON'T READ BELOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THE FUN OF DISCOVERING ALL THIS WHEN BOOK 29 IS FINALLY PUBLISHED. SOME ELEMENTS ARE ALSO REFERING TO THE NEW NOVELS. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!
Ok, you are still there? All the following is a chronology of the events that took place between the Summer of MS 5084 (end of book 28) and the Spring of MS 5102 (beginning of book 29). Let's start:
-5084: After the death of Sejanoz, the army of Chai, led by General Zha-zhing, son of Xo-lin, pushed the Bhanarian back to their homeland and destroy the city of Yua Tzhan (that we visited in book 27). This event is called the Massacre of Yua Tzhan
-5085: Eastern Bhanar is occupied by Chai. Xo-lin's death makes Zha-zhing the new Kea-Khan who marries Mylsha, princess of Mythan. The Bhanarian resistance makes regular attacks on the Chai fortresses on the border between the two countries. A treaty between Chai and Mythan is signed and makes it impossible for any ships to reach the Bhanarian coasts. The resistance is finally defeated.
-5086: The Kea-Khan Zha-Zhing puts Superintendent Klutan on the throne of Bhanar. Klutan is merely a puppet under the order of the Kea-Khan. Chai removes its forces from Eastern Bhanar. Zha-Zhing has a son, Lao Tin.
-5087: King Kardisa of Vaduzhan invades the south-west part of Bhanar. Otavai falls after offering little to no resistance and Kardisa asks the conquered territories to become part of his kingdom. Chai won't resist to this demand.
-5088: The Shianti leave the Isle of Lorn to live with Ishir on the Plane of Light. Their last act on Magnamund is to give the Isle of Lorn to the Kai Order.
-5089: Lone Wolf arrives on the Isle of Lorn. With the help of Grey Star, he prepares plans for a new Kai Monastery on the island. Sultan Zedoli of Shadaki declares the presences of both LS and GS on Lorn as an act of war. Shadaki invades Forlu and Korli but the Lastlands come to their help. LW sends one regiment of Kai Lords and Sommerlund sends three regiments of soldiers in what is known as the War of the Sea of Winds. Shadaki looses the war and gives back the conquered lands. Zedoli is assassinated shortly after.
-5090: Warlord Ranghor kicks the Lencians out of Nyras while King Sarnac is killed. A civil war is declared among the Drakkarim nations as Ranghor and Ghangrim fights to get the control. Meanwhile, construction of the new Kai Monastery on the Isle begins. It will take ten years to be completed. Most of the Grand Masters of the New Order will take part to its construction. Occasional skirmishes between Korli and Shadaki are taking place.
-5091: A great number of Agarashi (between 8,000 and 12,000) emerge from the Darkwall Mounts and invade the Lucien Hills of Siyen. The city of Varedo is destroyed but the Siyenese army counter-attacks and rejects the horde back to the mountains. The Lastlands offer workers to help to the construction of the new Kai monastery. All the incursions from Shadaki in the territory of Korli stopped. King Tor IV rises to the throne of Sommerlund.
-5092: The city of Jaroc, in southern Lunarlia, is attacked and destroyed by another large force of Agarashi (between 7,000 and 10,000) that came for the lands of Naaros. A new war is declared between Eldenora and Delden.
-5093: Again, a large force of Agarashi (between 12,000 and 15,000), coming from the Chasm of Kraknalorg, attacks Mount Vost in Starn. This time though, Boden gives a military aid to the Giants who will break the siege and push back the horde to the Karknalorg. End of the war between Delden and Eldenora.
-5094: Troops on the border of Kasland fight off various attacks of creatures coming from Kraknalorg. In northern Cincoria, various settlements inside the forest are destroyed, again by Agarashi from the Karknalorg.
-5095: Jaraza becomes the new Zakhan in Vassagonia. He signs peace treaties with various Free Lands and formally renounces to any territorial revendications of Cloesia. A record harvest is reported in Sommerlund.
-5096: Magador forms an alliance with Ogia and attack Palmyrion. Talestria comes to the help of its allies and wins the war at the Battle of Luukos.
-5097: Creatures coming of the Danarg invades Talestria, but the are pushed back by the army. King Tor IV marries Princess Larina of Durenor in Holmgard.
-5098: Warmarshall Ranghor supervises the construction of warships under Zeegazad while King Telnac orders the construction of a shipyard in Newton, on the Doun River. The Lencian explorer Paval is captured by the Drakkarim. Archduke Chalamis of Kasland dies in mysterious circumstances. Archduchess Larena takes his place. A new gold seam is found in the south-east part of the Maaken Mines. The King of Sommerlund uses this new gold to increase the number of men in the army and in the navy.
-5099: A conspiracy by the Shadakine empire to destroy the new Kai Monastery on the Isle of Lorn is disrupted by Lone Wolf and the New Order of Kai. Acolytes of Vashna are sighted on numerous occasions in the Stornlands.
-5100: The new Kai Monastery is completed on the fifth day of the year. During the inaugural ceremony, the God Kai appears to Lone Wolf and the Kai that were there. After giving praises and blessings, he warned the New Order that Magnamund would soon face a new attack from the forces of Naar. Lone Wolf goes back to Sommerlund to prepare the Order and sends Red Bear and a group of Kai Aspirants to Talestria (these are the events told in novel The Dragon of Lencia). Meanwhile, contact is lost between Sommerlund and Durenor with Ljuk, in Kalte. Sommlending merchants are expelled from Kalte, with their goods being seized. Two ships from the Commercial Lands of the North that were in Ljuk are attacked by Ice Barbarians who kill all the crew. In the Stornlands, the coty of Amory is besieged and taken by mercenaries companies. King Telnac, informed of the impending attack of the Agarashi, cancel his invasion of Nyras. The Drakkarim interprete this as a sign of weakness and launch a fast invasion of Lencia. After Vadera and Westhaven are razed to the ground, Warmarshal Ranghor claims the throne of Lencia for himself. The commander of the Barbarians of Kalte, Tvor'tana, unifies for the first time all the tribes of the land. He is given the title of Brumalmarc. The fire lake that encircles the ruins of Helgedad extinguishes itself.
-5101: Shortly after the celebration of the Fehmarn, the Chasm of Gorgoron is shaken by earthquakes for weeks. When the earthquakes finally stops, the jungle of Dessi is swarming with Agarashi. The new Brumalmarc of Kalte, Tvor'tana, with the help of the Nadziranim, reopens the Shadow gate under the ice fortress of Ikaya, releasing the powerful Ice Demons. These monsters carried an unnatural winter to Sommerlund and Durenor. The Kaltersee froze over, allowing the Ice Barbarians to invade Sommerlund and Durenor. Lone Wolf, King Tor IV of Sommerlund and King Danan of Durenor lead the armies to a complete victory over the Ice Demons and the Ice Barbarians, pushing them back to their cold lands. The unnatural winter ceased suddenly just as it had begun. Sommerlund suffered from floods for three months before all the snow was melt and the cycle of seasons return to normal. Prince Sarnac, son of Telnac, leads the forces of the Free Lands to liberate Helmstorm from the Drakkarim. He is crowned King of Lencia before leading the armed forces of Helmstorm against a new attack of the Drakkarim at the north gate of the capital. They fought at the Battle of the Valley of Grimstone where Ranghor was defeated when troups from Kasland arrived. In Eru, a scout reports that the Nadziranim of Ghangrim have created a new machine that would destroy all the Free Lands. Back in western Tentarias, the invasion of Darke begins. The city falls under the power of the united forces of Eru, Lencia, Kasland, Boden, and Bor. King Sarnac rename the city Gamir, its old Lencian name. Sarnac continues through Nyras and destroys Kagorst. Suddenly, earthquakes shakes the border of Skaror and the Darklands, at the feet of the Ogshezar Mounts. A new rift, 200 miles deep, opens up, between the ruins of Cragmantle to the abandonned city of Nadgazad. The remote Bhanarian city of Bakhasa is controlled by a Nadziranim. The Maakengorge opens up a little bit more of 25 miles to the West. The eartquake leveled the remains of the city of Maaken and few buildings in Casiorn were still standing after it. Acolytes of Vashna started converging to the gorge.
-5102: Khea-Khan Zha-zhing dies at the age of 58 on the day of the festivity of Fehmarn. His son Lao Tin becomes the new Khea-Khan at the age of 16.
What will happen next? Is the new Khea-Khan a strong man with a righteous heart? Will new chasms open up around the globe? Did the NO Grand Master found the coin he had lost on his first trip to the Isle of Lorn? Do they still make Borweiser in Magnamund? All that and probably much more when book 29 is (finally) published!
