General Nosey Stuff
Why did you choose your screen name?
I was asking a few questions on the Mongoose forums, not long after the RPG came out. I wasn't familiar with D20 rules, and there were several things that didn't make sense (a morningstar is cheaper, lighter and more versitile than a mace? WTF?). I wanted a Kai type name. I'd also recently seen Bill Bailey's excellent 'Bewilderness' show, and the word bewildered summed up my feelings exactly. Badger seemed to follow naturally (another Bill Bailey influence).
Do you have a real name you might be willing to share?
Matthew.
How old are you?
Thirty eight this year (where did the time go? )
What do you do for a living?
Care worker at a nursing home.
What part of the world are you from?
Staffordshire, UK.
Married?
No.
Got kids?
No.
Got pets?
One mad cat.
Favourite Food?
Quite a wide range. Indian, chinese, italian, and I'm ready to try others.
Favourite films?
Star Wars (originals, of course), Lord Of The Rings, Shaun of The Dead. Batman Begins was the best superhero movie I've ever seen, narrowly beating Batman Returns (mmmm, Catwoman!)
Favourite TV shows?
Doctor Who (all versions, plus spin offs), Firefly, various Treks, new Gallactica. Mythbusters is a fave too.
Favourite books?
Lord Of The Rings, plus The Hobbit. I've just finished Richard Dawkins' controversial work The God Delusion, and fully expect to re-read it soon. Childhoods End (RIP, ACC). The Sherlock Holmes and Professor Challenger stories (except The Land Of Mist. Bleuuugh.) When I'm in the mood for something lighter I turn to the works of Matthew Reilly. Unrealistic hokum, complete nonsense, but no less entertaining for that.
Any other hobbies/interests?
I enjoy collecting and painting 28mm wargames/rpg miniatures. Not that I'm terribly good at it.
Lone Wolf Stuff
How old were you when you first found Lone Wolf and how did you meet him?
It must have been the year they first came out. I'd already read a few FF's when I saw FFTD in WH Smiths and thought 'that looks good'.
Have you read all the books yet? If not, which ones do you need to read?
Read up to The Darke Crusade. I've got a couple of later ones, but don't want to read them out of sequence.
Favourite book?
SOTS. Actually meeting Haakon suddenly made everything feel epic. I like the new version of FFTD too.
Least favourite book?
Castle Death. Not actually bad, it just feels more like a standard FF than a LW.
Lone Wolf RPG Stuff
Have you played the RPG yet?
Only on TOTS
Which classes have you played?
Dessi Mage and Kai Lord.
Favourite classes and why?
See above!
Any good Lone Wolf gaming stories to tell?
For those who participated in 'A Night To Remember', yes, I really was planning to use the brandy and candles to barbeque that bard, if she turned out to be a Helghast!
